Br--a,~t~ ._ also stated the need of dirt fill on Fourteenth Street. ~e Council advised that the street would be repaired as soon as poss~ e. ,~ood]and Park Subdivision appeared in regard to the Two property o~mers of w - location of Ninth Street. A blue prior of this section was presented and after dis- cussing th~ situation the Co~c~! tab!~d matter pending f~rth, er investigation. A representative from Inter Co~ty Tel ~d Tel Comply was present and ~cs~nted thc Co-mucil with a pl~ of the tel ~ - ep~one system. The~-~-~*~*ive~~.~.~.~ stated that the Telephon~ o ~ ~o~,~pa~ was planing to remove all aerial cables and install ~der- ground cab!~s, im ~icw of the fact, that the present system would be cha~ed to dial system in thc ne~ future. The matter of the Tetepaone Company having no franc~mse was brought b~for~a the 'Co~cil and a~ter discussing this the Co,nc!! requested the ropresen~ ativc ?resent to notify th~ ~danager of the Comp~ that the City Co~cil would lik~ for him to arrance a meeting with them in the vc~ near future to discuss this situation. The need of removing t~lephonc poles on certain County Secondly roads was also dis- cussed. The matter was tabled ~til futt~e date. President Chandler, presented a request from l.eo Ulratton, Commander of Am-~rican Legion, r~q~e~t_no that the Council grant to t.~e American Legion Rescue Squad permission to sponsor Kelly-~orris circus on March ~5 free from all license charge. After con- ~re~ sidering the ~_att~r Cotmcil~an Coker ~oved to grant request ~ from all cha~g~s, sec- ended by Councilman Thomas and carried. H. [.~!. Hancock, Fire Chief, stated the ne~d of new sanitary facilities in the ~ity Jail. Council agreed that Ha~cock contact all .City plumbers on cost of needed facilities and report to Council at next regular meeting. Two buildi?g applications from the Pure 0il Compsny in the amount of $5,000.00 and $18,000.00 were approved and ordered in the minutes. Building al'plications for the following were presented and upon motion by Councilman Thomas, seconded by Councilman Coker and carried, permits were granted and ordered issued: ~J . ~. ]' Hansel $~,000.00~ W. R. Tomlinson, $1,000.00, and Frank Sheppard ~i';2,000.00. Building application from A. W. Harden in the amount of $~,000.00 was present- ed and upon motion by Council~an Coker, seconded by Com~cilman Thomas and carried permit was granted. Councilman Tho~nas brought before the Council the urgent need of a special policeman~ The Council agreed that in the near future they felt the financial status of the city would be such that it wogald permit another policeman to be employed and in view of this the Clerk was advised to notify anyone interested to file application with City Clerk. The zoning ~roblem was again discussed and the Clerk was advised to write for information as to the cost of a zoning survey of the city. The traffic situation was discussed and the Council agreed to request the Florida Power and Light Company to change the caution lights on State Road #4~1 so that, the red reflectors will be North and South considering the fact that the red lights would be more cautious. Upon motion the Council adjourned.
