Connie Raulerson, PresidAnt of the Chamber of Commerce and 0tin Lee, Director,
appeared before the Council stating that the Chamber of Commerce were planning to
build and office and requested permission from the City to build said building on Park
R, East of Parrott Avenue. Councilman Roe moved to grant request, seconded by Council-
man Warlord and unanimously carried.
The matter cf vacations for the City employees was discussed, and upon
motion by Councilman 0oker, sec'onded by Councilman Warlord and carried the employee's
of the l~a~er~Dept., Supt. of St. & San. Dept., Fire Chief, Clerk and Clerk's Assistant
and Police Dept. were granted a two. weeks paid vacation.
The matter cf Building P~rmits was brought before the Council and discussed.
Councilman Coker moved that a notice be published in the 0keechobee News - effective
immediately - that all builders must make application for Building Per,it w~ th City
Clerk and said ap plication must be approved by Council before issuance of permit,
seconded by CouncilmamWatfcrd and carrt ed.
Request was received from Joe Bongiovanni regarding the transfer of Package
store license from Lot 1, Block 161 to Lot 9, Block 159. Mater tabled.
The Council approved amendment of agreement with K. L. Sharp.
Councilman Warlord .moved to transfer funds from Swi~m~ing Pool Fund to the
General Fund of the City of 0keechobee, seconded by Councilman Roe and unanimously
carri ed.
Representative Zelmenovitz discussed with the Council the proposed Mental
Institution. Presidemt Chandler appointed Councilman Thomas as Ohaizm~n of Committee
to represent the City CoUncil in this matter.~
Upon motion the Council adjourned.

The City Council of the City of 0keechobee, Florida,-met in special session
at the City Hall on the above date at 10:00 A. M. with the following present:
President Chandler, Councilmen Coker, Roe, Thomas and Warlord with Lorena Spivey,
City Clerk.
The purpose of the meeting was to consider building perm~it applications
for the following: ~s. Veda T. Fulwider, Fred T. Wilson, Chamber of Co~mie~ce, Irena
l~illiams and M~s. Alte Watford, Sr. After careful examination of the applications,
Councilman Watfor~ moved to accept said applications and the Clerk was authorized to
issue building perm~i~ to the above applicants, seconded by Councilman Thomas md
unanimously carried.
A prospective Building Inspector was ~discussed and matter tabled until
regula~ meeting of Conrail.
A Building and Zoning Code for the City of 0keechobee was also discussed
and it was agreed that President Chandler contact capable pa~ty for further infox~nation.
Upon motion the Council adjourned.

A letter from Anthony Caso stating that a fence had been placed across
lng
Kissimmee Street adjoin/ his property, depriving adjoining property owners use of this
portion of said street. After discussin~ matter, Councilman Thomas moved to have fence
owner contacted and have him removed the fence, seconded by Councilman Roe and carried.
By letter Joe sigmund offered for sale to the City a tractor loader. The
Council discuased offer, but decided to postpone action indefinitely.
A discussion to open Kissimme Street between Ninth and Eleventh Avenues,
which opens that street to the hospital and open Kissimmee Street at ~the~ various
places was heard. Council agreed to have work done·
Marvin Mobley discussed the need for pipe in orde~ to complete the work to
.~ open the above street at d~signated places. Councilman Roe moved to purchase necessary
pipe for this Job, seconded by Councilman Thomas and carried.
The necessity of employing a building inspector was discussed. Councilman
Thomas moved to employ Fred Thomas as building inspector, and to receive a fee of
fifty per cent of the building permit cost~ seconded by Councilman Coker and carried.
Increase in future water deposits was discussed. Councilman Roe moved to
increase wate~ deposits hereafter to $10.~0 to help eliminate deliquent water bills,
