Exceptiemal Eecktail Ledge License to the Southland Hotel. ~e opinion was it would
be violating City Ordinance No. 2~4. A discussio~ followed and Ce~cilman Roe move~ to
table matter for f~ther study, seconded by C~cilm~ Watford and carried.
E E. Etelle~ ~., appeared before the Co~cil and requested the City's
Ins~ce business for 195~. ~e Ce~cil assured ~. ~telle this matter would continue
to be h~dled as in prier years. In rotalon, which automatically gives the Insur~ce
b~iness to Stelle for 195~
Watson Dagostino ~d Connie Ra~ers~ appeared b~fore the Ce~cil, in regard
to the ~bearab!e odor cause~ by Mar~am Bros. t~nimg their excess waste water
drainage diteh, west of c~ning plant, which extends southward beyond city limits. My.
Greenlaw, foreman for ~arkh~ Bors. plant endeavored to e~lain the situation. He
stated a Chemist w, uld be here on the ~th of J~uary to make analysis tests. ~e Council
agreed t~ table matte~ ~til tests were reported.
Bruce Bavfield met with the C~cil i~ regards to closing the alley r~ning
East and West in Block 48, AV ~d 48 of the to~ of 0keechobee. Ce~cilman Roe p~esented
the g~llewing 0~din~ee and moved its adopted and upon being seeonded by Ce~cilma~
Warlord was put to a vote and ~animously adopted:

Glen Snodgrass, representing the ~merican Legion, requested permissiO~ te
sponsor a fair, to be located on Legion ~rounds. Ordinance Ne, 248 was read by the
Attorney. After discussio~ Councilman Williams moved to waive tax im Ordinance Ne.
248, providing the fair conditions meets full approval of the Mayor and City Council,
seconded by Cotmcilman Warlord and carried.
A letter from the Okeechobee Gar.:ien Club was read with reference to endorsing
the City area as a Bird Sanctuary. The Council instructed the Clerk to contact maid
Club for further details.
· letter fro~ the Church Women's Council, commending the Council for appoint-
ment of an additional policeman was read and ordered filed.
