BE IT ANACTED BY ~E COUNCIL OF THE ff TY OF OKEECMOBEE, ~LORIDA, that:
Section One. From and after the date this ordinance becomes effective,
the following described street and/or avenue shall be closed and vac~ated:
That portion of Kissimmee Avenue between N~nth and Tenth Streets.
..... SECTION TW0~. Ail ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith,
be, and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION THREE: This ordinance sHALL TAKE effect upon its due passage
according to law.
SECTION FOUR: A certified copy of this ordinance shall be filed in the
public Records of 0keechobee County, Florida .

animous consent, passed to second reading;

Dalton Brette appeared in behalf of fJae County Commissioners asking, permission
to use the extra caution light owned by the city to be ere, ted at the interesction of
State Road 70 and U. S. ~ighway 98 until the County could obtain one. Councilman Roe
moved to donate light to the County, seconded by Councilman Warlord amd carried.
M~. C. J. Musgrove, Agriculture teacher, requested that the Council grant
pe~ission to the Future Farmer boys to erect a cattle pen on Osee~la ~treet in front
of Burgess Supply ~ompany for the purpose of raising two calves. Mr. Musgrove ~.~atated
that the pens would meet all sani~ax-y conditions. After discussio~ the Council saw no
objection and Councilman Williams moved to grant request, seconded by 'Councilman Warlord
and carried.
An application from N. P. Worcester requesting permission to transfer liquor
store license from present location to Lot 6, Block 161 was discussed and upon mottc~
by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman Roe and ear, led request was denied.
Discussion on co~plaints on unnecessary noise orginating f~om the Drive In
Theatre was heard. President 0handler and Councilman Warlord acting as a co~ittee agree
to eontact the theatre management and request that the ex'ess noise be eliminated.
Allen and Roscoe Markha~ appeared before the Council and discussed the sewer
problem ceased by the exeessive use of water at their plant. ~he Markha~s stated that
they were e~deavoring to eliminate the sewer t~ouble by disposing of bulk waste ma~erial
which fox-~erly were put in the sewer and to ~ the excessive water into an open ditch.
~e Council a~eed to cooperate with the Ma_~kha~ in every possible way and endeavor to
work out ia a aatisfacto~-y manner ~he sewer problem. The Council agreed that all the
tomato pe~li~ga ~o~ld be dumped outside of tke city limits in an effort to eliminate
raising flies.
Councilman Willia~ opened the discussion on reckless d~iving endangering the
0keechobee school children and advocated the appointment of anotker offiee~. This
appointment was discussed and agreed that definite aetion be taken Monday, Sept. 15.
The Council requested Marvin Mobley to repaint signs in school zone.
President Chandler repoPted the meed of street repair on Osceola Street at
the eorner of Burney & Xelz Fu~n. Store. Supt. Mobley requested to take cape of matteP.
The 1951 Fiamaelal report co~pleted by ~ V. Wilson, ~. was ~eviewed by the
Co~cil ~ it was agreed t~at it would be a good idea to ~ave the ~epor~ printed i~ the ~
Okeechobee News if it could be done ~thout too m~h cost. Oo~eil~ Natfo~d vol~tee~e

Inoculation of the doge was diseussed and the ClePk was advised to contact D~.
