June 10, 1952
The City Council of the City o£ 0keechobee, Florida, met in special called
session at the City Hall on the above date at ?:30 P. M. with the following present:
Mayor H. H. Haulerson, President Chandler, Councilmen Roe, Thomas and Watford with
Durrance, City Attorney and Lorena Spivey, Cit~ Clerk.
May or Raulerson stated that the purpose of ~this meeting was to discuss with
Jack Greenly, County Health Officer and John Woodard~ Sanitarian, the sewer situation
at Markham Brothers Canning Plant. After discussion the Council agreed that the Clerk
write a letter to Markham Brgthers, stating that the city sewer serving the cannery
would have to be discontinued at the close of present season., and that the canning
plant in the future would have to.furnish their own 'sewerage disposal system due to the
financial condition of the city they were unable to help them.
Upon~motion the Council adjourned.

at the City Hall on the above date at 7:30 P M. with the following present: Mayor
H. H. Raulerson, President Chandler, Councilmen Roe, Thomas and Watford with G. C.
Durrance, City Attorney and Irena Williams Acting Clerk.
Minutes of the meetings held June 2 and 10, 1952 were read a~d approved as
read.

I & S Refunding Bonds that were given him by the City for services rendered during the
Bond Refunding program. The City Council deceided to purchase said bonds from said
owner at 100% face val~e. Councilman Watford moved to purchase the three $500.00 bonds
seconded by Councilman Thomas and carried.
Mrs. 0. L. Hunt appeared before the Councilas principal speaker in behalf of
the swimming pool project. The matter was thoroughly discussed, but the major problem
seemed that the County could take no further action in the program until the city
made a move t° begin the project. The City Council agreed to take over project and
