The City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, met in regular adjourned
session at the City Hall on the above date at V:00 P. M. with the following present:
Ms, or H. H. Haulerson, President Chmdler, Councilmen Roe, Thomas, Watford and Williams,
with Durranee, City Attorney and Lorena Spivey, City Clerk.
Minutes of the meetings held March 3 and 24, 1952, were read and appr&ved as
read.

Councilman Roe moved to change the hour of Council meeting from 7:00 P. M. to
7:30 p. M. seconded by Councilman Watford and carried.
Councilman Watford moved to have 15 minute parking signs painted on four stall~
directly in front of the Post Office, hou~ to be enforce from 8:00 A. M. to 6:00 P. M.
and to nul and void all preceeding motions, seconded by Councilman Thomas and carried.
Discussion as^the removal of the cuation light was heard and ta~ed for furthex
consideration.
Mr. Crantell appeared before ~he Council and requested the use of the Council
room to hold a Bible Study sponsored by the Jehovah Witnesses. The Council advised
to
that they had agreed preveously not to let the hall out for use M$ any organization.
The need of an additional Patrolman to help control the traffic within our
city was discussed. It was agreed that the Mayor and President write a l~ter to the
proper offical requesting same.
Drainage in west part of town was discussed. Lucille Holmes in behalf of
her mother Mrs. Blanton appeared and stated that her mother would sell her lot to the
city for $500.00. After discussing the cost it was agreed that the street committee
would investigate the situation and assured Mrs. Holmes that if the purchase was not
made that the property would be left in good condition.
A letter from the 0ffical Board of the Methodist Church ex~ressing their
gratitude to the Council for. moving trees from the church property, was ordered filed.

1 block of the street directly in front of the 0keechobee News Office on Tuesday night
May 6th. Councilman ~Vatford moved to grant request, seconded by Councilman Thomas
and carried.
