Attorney Durrance read an agreement from the Inter County Tel and Tel
Company and after discussion Councilman Pearce moved to accept the agreement and have
same properly executed, seconded by Councilman Gardner and unanimously carriede
Dr. Frank Platt, Veterinarian and W. B. Richards, Supervisor Sanitarian
discussed with the Council dog innoculation and rabies· Dr. Platt presented a
model orAinance for the Councils study. Ihs Council instructed the Attorney to
prepare an c~dinance on same for the meeting to be held April 14the
T. T. Coleman appeared again regarding the city closing Tallahassee Street
South of Thir~ Street. Attorney Durrance instructed to prepare Ordinance closing
same · the
R. M. Matthews requested that/city close Micano~ee Street North of Hale
Avenue to the South bo~udax~Y of S. A. L. Railway right-of-way. Attorney Durrance
instructed to prepare Ordinance on same.
Water Supt. Kinsaul discussed with the Council a request from J. G. Kelly
for a 2" water line to his property in East 0keechobee where he intends to build
6 houses· Kinsaul stated it would require approxir~ately 950 ft. of pipe. Also
discussed was a 2" line to Thomas Packing Company which would require approximately
400 ft. of Pipe. After discussion Councilman Chandler moved to purchase the above
needed 2" pipe also a 2" and a 1" meter seconded by Councilman Gardner and carried.
Applications from J. R. Walters and Laurens Reeves for the garbage disposal
business were considered. After discussion Councilman Gardner moved to accept the
application offered by Laurens Reeves, seconded by Councilman Chandler and carried.
Attorney Durrance instructed to prepare contract for execution on April 14.
The Council authorized the purchase of 12 - 20' lenghts of 12" uncoated
culvert.

Pursuant to notice published in the 0keechobee News and no objections
having been filed, Councilman Walker moved, seconded by Councilman Pearce and unanimously
carried that the following described land be rezoned from"Residential"(R-1) an4
"Industrial" to "Commercial" ~
Lots 1, 2, 7 to 16 inc., Block 57, Original Town of 0keechobeee
Pursuant to notice published in the 0keechobee News and no objections
having been filed, Councilman Pearce moved, seconded by Councilman Chandler and un-
animously carried that the following described land be re-zoned from "Residential"
to "Public Building"~
Ail of Block 197 in the To~n of 0keechobee, according to
Plat thereof, filed in Plat Book 2, Page 17, Public
records of St. Lucie County, Florida~ ALSO that portion
of the abandonded F. E. C. Railroad right-of-way, and
those parts of North Curve Street and South Curve Street,
lying between the East side of 0keechobee Avenue and West
side of 0sceola Street, all being in the City of 0keechobee,
aforesaid. Said lands comprising a part of Section 21,
Townshi~ 37 South, Range 35 East.
A discussion on culvert for driveway entrance to property owned by Ford
Collins on State Road 78 was heard. President Watford agreed to contact the Main-
tenance Engineer of the State Road Department regarding requirements.
Several drainage ~roblems were discussed.
Councilman Pearce moved that beginning the 1st meeting in May the time of
Council meetings be changed to 7:30 P. M. seconded by Councilman Gardner and carried.
Upon motion the Council adjourned to me~t A~ril 14, 1958.
