1952-02-04 Regular February 4, 1952 The City-Council of the City of 0keechobee, Florida, met in regular session at the City Hall on the above date .at ?:00 P. M. with the following present: Mayor · H. H. Raulerson, President Chandler, Councilmen Roe and Thomas with G. C. Durrance, City Attorney and Williams acting~clerk. Minutes of the meeting held January 7, 1952, were read and approved as read. I. Lawson, respresenting the Rotary Club, discussed the plaeing of names and nt~mbers on streets and the possibility of getting the houses numbered with the future outlook of having mail delivery service. Dalton Brette, roi, resenting Commissioner Register, diseussed with the Council the drainage of property on west side of town and offered the County's aid in redeming the situation. The city would have to obtain easement of the property, pay operators of equipment and furnish culverts. The estimated eost of the City's portion approximat ly $400.00. Councilman Roe moved to work with .the County on this ~roJect, seconded by Councilman Thomas and carried. S. H. Mc Dougald and Fritz Scharfschwerdt appeared, also representing the Rotary Club and discussed the street numbers and markers and offered full cooperation to the City. ~m John W. Greenly, State Board of Health, Sanitary Officer, appeared and showed a moving picture on samitation problems. He presented each member present with a survey report on sanitation problems in 0keechobee County. After a discussion it was agreed the President Chandler and Marvin Mobley would accompany Sanitary 0ffiee'r Greenly to Lake.Worth to obtain information on their ground fill .garbage disposal plan. Councilman Roe presented the Council with the problem of Ernest Evans (East 0keechobee resident) water line lying in street rightway and on other personal property T~.e Council suggested that Water Supt. Kinsaul contact Mr. Evans in regards to moving the water line off street property, and in so doing the city could make repairs on stre t. The Council discussed a city-county manager.
