Mr. Tellfare reccommended that the City employ an engineer to make a su~rvey of a se'~¥er project. Allen and Roscoe Markham were present and stated that they '~id agree to pay half the cost of making the survey. Mr. ?ellfare presented the Council with a list of qualified engineers and Councilman Williams moved that the Clerk contact a number of them regarding their fee for making such a survey, seconded by Couhcilman ~omas and carried. Ammon Mc Clellan brought before the council again the need of having the deep holes in back of the old Florida East Coast Railway Station filled in. This matter was brought before the Couneil sometime ago and the owne~ of the property was notified of the hazzard and was requested to fill in the holes but to this date no action has been taken. ~Xhe matter was referred to the Attorney and he was asked to contact t he owner again. Marvin Mobley requested that the Council purchase a motor ~for the sewer equipment that was recently purchased by the City. Matter tabled. Councilman Thomas reported complaints of c~rs speeding in the South section of town, and requested the Mayor to notify the Chief of Police of this matter. were read Letters/from S. H. Mc Dougald, Okeechobee ~ounty Bank Vice-President, regardin~ the sewer situation and the effect it had on the sanitary facilities of the Bank. Counc requested that Mr. Mc Dougald be notified that the matter was being given attention. Resolutiona from the Parent Teachers Association and Chamber of Commerce were read and tabled for further consideration. , The Council agreed to issue Building .Permit to bhe Church of God exempt from any fee for the building of a parsonage. Councilman Thomas moved to appoint President Chandler as Building Inspector for the City of Okeechobee, Seconded by Councilman Williams and carried. Upom motion the Council adjourned. Matter referred to Marvin Mobley. Councilman Warlord moved to cancel the outstanding taxes on Lot 3, Block 40, South Okeechobee. Said property being assessed to the Church of God. Seconded by Councilman Roe and carried. Vaccination of dogs was discussed and it was agreed to conduct in usual manner. was r®ad A l®tt~r from Roger L. After discussion Councilman Watford moved to settle for $24.00 for the months of April and May 'each and average of seven months. Secondedby Councilman Roe and carried. Mrs. E. F. Dudley and Mrs. H. H. Raulerson representing 0keechobee County Children's Committee, appeared and requested a donation from the City to help carry on the recreational program th~0ugh the summer. Councilman Watford moved to donate $300.00 to this program to be paid over aperiod of two months. Seconded by Councilmmn Roe and carried. Mr. Wilson, representative from Briley, Wild and Associates, Consulting En- gineers, was present an~ discussed with the Council the sewer situation and fee for p~e~; liminary survey. Other consulting Engineers proposals were rgad and discussed. Council- man Roe suggested that the sewer matter be tabled until it is definite what Legislature will do in regard to a bill concerning counties helping cities in such matters. Water Supt. Kinsaul requested that if the City was in financial condition that the water plant be painted. After discussion Councilman Roe suggested that bids stating specifications of worka be presented and opened at next regular meeting of the Council. Councilman Watford moved that the clerk be issued a checktn the amount of $15.0~ to be used as a petty cash fund. Seconded by Councilman Roe and c arri®d.
