The~Council of the City of 0keechobee, Florida, met in regular adjourned
session at the City Hall at 7:30 P. M. on the above date with the. following preset:
Mayor H. H. Raulers~n, President Chandler, Councilmen Roe and Watford with Durrance,
City Attorney and Pearce, City Clerk.
Attorney Durrance stated that he had checked on the matter regaPdi~g sirens
for Vol. Fire Dept. vehicles and found that it was illegal.
A letter from 0keechobee County Bank (S. H. Mc Douglad) regarding the ~ewer
situation was read and situation discussed in full. It was suggested that the Mayor
contact Rep. Hendr~y and endeavor to work out somet~dng with State Road Dept. in using
the storm sewer on State Road #70.
A letter from C. R. Bibb regarding his Occupational License was read by the
Clerk. After discussion Councilman Ro. moved that the letter be filed and that C. R.
Bibb's Occupational License be ,cancelled. Seconded by Councilman Watford and carried.

Water Supt. Kinsaul brought before the Council the matter of a water line
near
break u property belonging to Blosvein in the Southwes~ section of town, which had
cost the Citya considerable amount of money for repair. Due to the fact, that Belcher
0il Comply was doing the work for Blosvein, the Council suggested that the. Oill of
repair be sent to them. Kinsaul expressed his appreciation to the Council for making
it possible for him to attend the short course in Gainesville.
Councilman Williams stated that a street in East 0keechobee was in very bad
condition after discussion ~he Council agreed to have street repaired at once to make it
passable for the home owners.
The sewer problem was discussed. A letter from S. H. Mc Dougald was read in
regard to the effect the sewer situation has on the 0keechobee County Bank sanitary
facilities. After discussion it was agreed that the Mayor con,act A. B. Jackson, State
Board of Health inspector regarding situation.
Councilman Roe brought before the Council the need of safety precautions for
motorist and pedestrians within our city. After discussion Councilman Roe moved to
purchase 50 gallons of yellow paint to be used to paint street markers and signs~, Se~onde
by Councilman Watford and carried. Also Councilman Roe moved to purchase three caution
lights to be placed at three dangerous intersections~ seconded by Councilman Watford and
carried. Discussed also was the matter of establishing a five minute parking zone in
the vicinity of the post office. A ccmpltant of trucks parking on Parrott Avenue and~
leaving their motors running was discussed.
Financing of the new police car was discussed, councilman Roe moved to finan.
the car through the 0keechobee County Bank, seconded b~ Councilman Warlord and carried.
