0F ~E CITY 0F 0EECHOBEE, FL0~DA:
1. It is hereby declared $. ba~.~lawful for any person, fi~
corporatiom, to haw~ or peddle ~y good, wares or merchandise within
~he limits of the city of 0keechobee, Florida, withou~ fi~s~ paying
a city license in the s~ of ~enty Five DOllars, annually, p~ovided,
however, the p~ovisions of this ordiance shall not apply to any person
exempted ~der Section 205.15, Co~ed Laws of the S~a~e of Florida, 19~1.
2. Any person, fi~ or co~poration violating the provisions ~of this
Ordinance, shall be p~ished by a fine of not more than SB0.00 dollars
or be imprisioned in ~he City Jail for no~ more than ~60 days.

Fomest Pearce, Chairman of Volunteer Fire Dept. discussed with the Council
the V. F. D. and their progress. Mayor Raulerson cow,~ended the V. F. D. on thetx,
sp~ndid work.
A short course on wate~ treatment at Gain sville, Florida~ was discussed
and the Council agreed that it would be very beneficial to the citizens of Okeech0bee
if the Water Supt. could attend this meeting. Councilman Watford moved to pay the
Water Supt. expense to attend this meeting if ag~ngements could-be made by him to go.
~ Seconded by Councilman Thomas and carried.
The street improvement project now under way was discussed by the Co,mncil
and the Council agreed to connect Osceola Street with the Old Dixie.
B1Qsvern and Malein appeared before the Council in regard to straightening
street near ~ property in crozier Woodland Park. Due ~to hydrant located the~e it
was impossible to grant request from the above. After this was impossible they re-
quested that the street be repaired due to the fact that it was becoming i~passable.
The Council agreed to give some relief on the street Just as soon as possible. Also
requested that some way be provided so that they might get to their property in Wood-
lan~ Park. Mayor Raulerson agreed to contact State R~ad Department and see if they
woul~ survey out the block so that a passage could be made.
A letter, from the Offical Board of Methodist Ch~urch was read, discussed and
ordered filed~ in Clerk's office. Attorney Durrance stated that he was opposed to
Carnivals being permitted to cme into the Cit~ under any circumstance. Councilman
Williams stated that he was opposed to them being permitted to use the City Park a~d
that the Ordinance on such should be enforced to the. highest tax. Attorney Durrance
~-~ requested autd~ority to prepare an Ordinance on Carnivals and such in eompiiamse~with
the State laws, the Council granted request.
A Question as to whether or not the Vol. Fire Dept. was lawful in installing
sirens on individual cars was brought before Council. Attorney Durrance was instructed
to look into matter.
Upon motion the Council adjourned to meet March 19, 1981.
