The City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, met in s~ecial session
also pursuant to notice published in the Okeechobee News, at 5:30 P. M. at the City
Hall on the above date with the following present: Mayor H. H. Rau!erson, President
Chandler, Councilmen Mc Dougald and Watford with Lorena Pearce, City Clerk.
Mayor Raulerson stated that the purpose of the meeting was to receive any
cmmplaint from persons having had their name stricken from the City ~egistration
Book, and any other business that might come before the Council.
The Council agreed that the following named persons should have their names
restored to the City Registration Roil:

A matter of a monthly donation from the County Commissioners to the Volunteer
Fire Department was discussed. Councilman Watford moved that a letter be written to
the County Commissioners requesting this donation, seconded by Councilman Mc Dougald
and carried.
Upon motion the ~Council adjourned.

A Discussion on the stricken names from the Registration Roll waw heard.
Councilman Martin moved that any person who had been stricken from the Registration
Roll on November 6, 1950, and who had not established a voting place elsewhere be
allowed the priveledge to vote December 5, 1950. Seconded by Councilman Warlord and
unanimously carried.
The matter of sending and Absentee Ballet to W. R. Tomlinson, who is confined
in Ft. Pierce Memorial Hospital was discussed. Councilman Warlord moved if legal to do
so, to send ballot to Ft. Pierce Election Board by bus requesting that they deliver
said ballot to Mr. Tomlinson and return by bus. Seconded by Councilman Mc Dougald and
unanimously carried.
Upon motion the Council adjourned to meet Monday, D~cember 11, 1950 at 7:00 P.

session at 7~30 P. M.' at the City Hall on the above date with the following present:

President Chandler announced that ,the Council would proceed to canvass the
returns of the General City Clection held December 5, 1950.

Councilman Watford presented the following Resolution and moved its adotpion
and upon beimg seconded by Councilman Mc Dougald was put to a vote which is as follows:
Aye - Councilmen Warlord and Mc Dougald
Nay - Councilmen Martin and Nix
A discussion on the election was heard with the Councilmen giving their
opinion on the matter and Attorney Durrance relating legal information. After a dis-
cussion both pro and con a roll call vote was requested. The vote Aye - Councilmen
Watford, Mc Dougald, Martin and Chandler and Nay - Councilman Nix. Thereby the follow-
ing Resolution was adopted:
