1950-05-12 Reg. Adjournedof streets by the City on prvperty belonging to R. E. Hamrick, in so doing ~r. Hamrick agreed to deed certain peoperty to property owner's desiring same at a nomimal fee but to this time he had not carried out his agreement and they were requesting information from the city as to how they might persuade Mr. Hamrick to give them a deed to the desired property. The Council stated that it was out of their hands and they had no authority to force action. Upon motion the Council adjourned to meet Na~lY, 1~§0. PRESIDENT CI~ cOuNCIL ATTEST: May 12, 1950 The City Council of the City of Okeechobee met in regular adjourned session at the City Hall c~ the above date at 1:30 P. M. with the following present~ Mayor H. H. Raulerson President Pro-rem Martin, Councilmen Mc Dougald, Nix and Watford with G. C. Durrance , City Attorney and Lorena Pearce, City Clerk. The matter of the defecit of Governor's Day was brought before the Council red and discussed. Councilman Mc Dougald moved that $200.00 be transfer/from the Utility Tax Collection to Contingency Fund and to.donate same amount to Governor's Day Committee seconded by Councilman Watford and unanimously carried. The City Attorney advised the Council that the expenditure of money from the Utility Tax Fund was an illegal and un- authorized expenditure of city funds. A building Ordinance was discussed. Councilman Mc Dougald moved that the City Attorney prepare a Building Ordinance and present at the next regular meeting of the City Council and tBe rates to be as follows: Any building up to $1,000.00 permit to cost $5.00. ~ of 1% ever~$1, O00.O0 and~p to and including $5,000.00 and all over $5,000.00 flat rate of $25.00, seconded by Councilman Watford and unanimously carried.
