was ordered issued upon payment of fee.
Upon motion by Co~c~lman Watford, seconded by Councilman Mc Dougald and
carried, the Go~mcil agreed to issue C. H. Parkerson a skating rink occupational license
for one year ~or $25.00.
Councilman Nix brought before the Oouncil the subjects of sewer rental fees,
tappage fees, bul]ding code and garbage fees for diseussion. It was suggested that
the Sanitary Co~ittee work up a proposed plan and present to the Council for consider-
ation. Information on the above subjects which was received from the Florida League of
M~icipalitie, was presented to the Council by the Clerk.
Upo~ motion by Councilman Watford, seconded by Councilman Nix and carried the
Co~cil agreo~ to waive clause in Ordinance No. 90 regarding the bond of Soliciters and
tm~ collect th~ $25.00 proposed fee for soliciters.
The need of signs leading to the d~ping pit. was dis.cussed and the possibility
of a fine of $25 O0 for the violation of d~ping garbage in any place other than the
pit was heard. It. was requested that bhe news editor r~ an}item in the local news-
paper regarding this matter. The Co~cil agreed to table matter ~mtil definite inform-
ation on. the Garbage Ordinance was located.

C. H. ParkeJ'~on met with the Council and presented the street lighting project
on 0sceola Street alsoi-discussed further the project on North Parrott Avenue to Seaboard
Railroad and two light~ on Hiwassee Street. Mr. Parkerson stated that the Florida
Power and Light Compan~ would extend payment over a period of time if necessary. After
discussion the Council agreed to have the ten lights erected. The Clerk was requested
to write a letter to M~. Parkerson stating the agreement.
Claude W. Clay appeared before- the Council and reported that a portable sand-
wich stand operated by the Church of God was operating on streets without a license.
~,~ayor Rau-lerson was requested to contact L. F. Rogers, k~infster, stating that the
Cou~cil had had ob.~ect~ons to this matter.
J. E. Cone, f~r~.ture dealer appeared before the Council in regard to the
City imposing a license on So!iciters. The Solicf_ters licen.~e was discussed and the
matter was tabled by ?~quest of Attorney until further date.
S. H. Mc Do',~ald reported the meeting of Finance Committee and Belcher 0fl
Company and ~iscussed further with the Co~mcil the issuance of Street Paving Liens for
the paving of the hos?ltal streets. Upon motion by Councilman Watford, sec-reded by
Councilman Nix and ca~ried, the Council agreed to issue the Street Paving Liens in the
amount of $3,000.00 for the paving of hospital streets and the city agreed to assume
their portion. The Clerk was instructed to write a letter to Cotunty Commissior~rs and
Belcher Oil Company st~ting the agreement.
Councilman Nix presented and read before the Co~mcil a proposed newspsper
item on "Clean Up Week~ Also Councilman Nix presented for discussion two proposed
Ordinances, Garbage PiCk-up and Sewerage Tappage and Rental Fees. It was agreed that
the local newspapers o~int proposed Ordinances giving the public an opportunity to
know of the proposed m~tters.
The

No licemse issued under the provisions of this Ordinance shall
be granted to a Vendor whose p~ace of business is or shall be within
Fifteen Hund~d (1,'500) feet of an established school or church, which
distance shall be measured by follSw~ng the shortest route of ordinary
pedestrian t~avel along the public highway or thoro~ghway from the nearest
point of said place of business to the nearest point of the church,and,
in case of ~ school, to the l~earest point of the school grounds in use as
part of the ~hool facilities.
SE~TION TWO: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict with the

A. ~. Jackson, Statue Board of H~lth representative, appeared before the
Council in ragard to several matSers. ~r. Jackson stated that Dr. ~omas, registered
Vete~ian of F~t P~.erce, would come to Okeec~.obee on May 11 and 18 from 1 to 5:00
for the purpose of vacci~ating dogs for rabies. The fee for the vaccination to be $2.00
per dog. The Co~l agree~ that this be done and that~ a notice b~ rDn in each of the
local newspa~L~to that effect. The matter of a po~d for the dogs was 8isc~sse8 and
deemed necessa~ if the Ordinance be enforced. Mayor Ra~]erson was requested to be
charge of having the Pound built. ~r. Jackson reported that tomato culls had been
d~ped in the garbage pit and that it was a breeding place for flies. After discussion

write to the ~ty Clerk of Stuart, Lake Wales, Belie Glade~Frost Proof and Lake Wales
for a copy of their building code.
