I " Planning Consultant Susan Morrison stated Lot 8 was rezoned to Residential Single Family I and request for a Special Exception for a church is consistent with the Future Land Use Map. A Special Exception would allow a church on a lot less than five (5) acres. She stated the property was previously used as a House of Worship so the utilities are there and on site parking is available. She stated they did not see any potential problems with this type of use for this site and recommended approval. N~W BUSINESS. Consider Petition 00-001-SE. Applicant, Tom W. Conely; Owner Sylvia Nelson The property is located at 112 Southeast 5th Avenue and is legally described as Lots 7 & 8, Block 253 and a porti<pn of the now abandoned Florida East Coast Rail Road Right of W~y adjacent to lots 7 & 8; to allow a church on a lot less than 5 acres. A. IV. I Lawrence Cox, Second Vice Commander of the American Legion Post #64, addressed the board stating that due to activities at the Legion Hall he was concerned with parking. He was also concerned with the sale of alcoholic beverages at the Legion with the Church next door. Bertha Williams, a citizen, voiced her concern regarding semi trailers turning at the corner of Southeast 2nd Street and 6th Avenue and with small children atthe church, pedestrian crossing the streets, etc. After discussion concerning traffic and parking concerns, Member Mavroides moved to deny Special Exception Petition No, 00-001 due to not complying with the Special Exception guidelines; seconded by Member Mueller.
