Building and Zoning Arlministrator J.H. t'¡estbrook called to the Board's attention,
that in a previous meeting,Attorney Conlon said theBoard of Adjustments and .Appeals
didn't have thepower to grant a variance; and J.N. Westbrook told Attorney Conlon the
Board could grant a variance.
After discussion with ~Board and the citizens, member Altobe11o moved to proceed
with going through the findings on the variance request and make a decision on the
variance, seconded by member Wright, members Wright and Altobello voted yes, members
Ferneau and Cba:i.rmæl furk opposed. Þk>tion not carried.

The Board of Adjustments and Appeals of the City of Olœecbobee, Florida, convened
in a recessed meeting in the Council Chambers at City Hall, OkeeCbobee, Fri~, April
10, 1981, at 7:00 P.R.
Cba:i.rmæl furk called the recessed meeting into session with the following'members
present: Jim ~'¡right, Frank Altobe110 and DaJ:rell Ferneau, Jim Kirk.
Others present were: Nallette Westbrook, Building and Zoning Administrator; Beatrice

WII.J..IAHSON - REQUEST FOR VARIANCE
Charles A. Jbbertson representing Faye A. W'illiamson appeared before the Board to

request a variance. After going over some of - the findings and a lengthy discussion as to
the correct manner in which to detennine the number of units permitted on the property in
question the. Board felt that according to the District schedule of Regulations Faye
l-JiUiamson had enough property and did not need a variance.
l.fember Kirk moved no variance was needed, seconded by member Wrightj menœrs Wright,
Kirk, Ferneau, Altobello voted yes, Chai.:tman Burk refrained from voting,
completely convinced that the manner the baard chose to use to detennine
was correct. Vote carried.

The Planning Board/Board of Adjustments and Appeals/Fire Code Board of the City
of Okeechobee, Florida, covened in its regular meeting in the Council Chambers at
City Hall, Okeechobee, Tuesday, May 5, 1981 at 7:00 P.M..
BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS AND APPEALS
Chairman Dale Burk called the meeting to order with the following members present:
James Kirk, Jim Wright, Darrell Ferneau, and Frank Altobello.
Others present were: Beatrice Lowe, Secretary; Keith Tomey, Fire Chief.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chairman Burk noted some corrections were needed in the minutes. With no other
objections, member Kirk moved to approve the minutes as corrected, seconded by member
Wright. Vote unanimous.
THOMPSON - REQUEST FOR SPECIAL EXCEPTION
C.B. Thompson's request for special exception to build warehouses in a Commercially
zoned area was reviewed by the Board. The Board found that the setback on the revised
plans was adequate and met the requirments of the District Schedule of Regulations.
