$10.00 per day fine and that Joe Brown, Jr. was there to address the Board in reference to these cases.
Joe Brown, Jr. addressed the board stating he had been in the hospital and that he had talked to
someone about mowing but it had not been done yet. He also stated this property was inherited by his
children and his daughter who lives in St. Augustine had been taking care of having it mowed. There
was a lengthy discussion among the board as to whether the land owners had been properly notified.
Attorney Cook stated it was necessary to cite the person who's name is on the deed and he suggested
that before the board recommends a foreclosure be filed some further research be done to be sure the
owners were properly notified. Member Gamiotea moved to table Case # 01-0061, 01-0074, and 01-

CODE BOARD ACTION
Attorney Cook suggested that he follow up on Case #02-0216 to be sure the City had properly notified
the owners that are listed on the deed and by the next meeting the ninety day waiting period would have
run and the board could recommend foreclosure. He added that the cost incurred by the City to have the
property cleaned would be assessed by a separate lien.
Attorney Cook informed the board that a hearing was set on the 24th or 25th of June in reference to the
motion for default filed against Case #00-01-01 and if the default is granted than it would proceed to the
next step of summary judgement.
Chairperson Worley reviewed the list of cases currently under a fine and asked Attorney Cook if he
could give the board and update on Case #02-0063 Joe Louis Lawson. Attorney Cook said he didn't
know the status at this moment, but he could update Chairperson Worley over the phone if he wanted to
call his office later in the week.
Member Gamiotea voiced some concern over brush piles that were not being picked up by Waste
Management. Code Officer Tomey told the board if a land owner hires a commercial business to clean
the property, then they must pay a fee to have Waste Management pick it up.
Member Gamiotea moved to adjourn; seconded by Member Castorina. Meeting adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
