AN O~DINANOE PI~)¥IDI~/G FOH THE LEVY AND ~OLLECTION OF TAXES FOR THE YEAR 1945 FOR THE ~ITY OF OKE~GHOBEE, 'FLORIDA. BE I~ ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND OITY 00UN~IL OF THE 0ITY OF OKEE- GHOBSE, FLORIDA: Section i. That the Ol~y of Okeecnobee, Florida, hereby levies %~x $f 20 mills on each dollar valuation of real and personal proper~y within the corporate limits of the 0ity of Okeeonob~e, Florida, for the year 29~5; such taxes shall be assessed and collected in the manner provided by law, P~0VIDED HOWEVER, that no taxes shall be against homesteads, having a valuatiom of not more than $5000.00, for the General FU~d of said Oity. Section 2. That 5 ~iile: of such tax shall be used for General Oity purposes and shall be assessed for the Genital Fund of said City. That 15 mills Cf such tax shall be assessed for the interest and sink- ing Fund for the payme~t of interest and principal of General Refunding Bonds, Issue og i9~2, of said City. Section 3. It shall be the duty of the T~x Oolleotor of said Oily and the Olty Oierk of said Ol~y, to divide the proceeds received from sa&d taxes ms aforesaid, into the funds set out in Section 1 of this Ordinance mud keep full end correat account of the same as they may be directed by the Oity Oouno%l. Section ~. A~ ordinances, or pert~ of Ordinances, in conflict herewith be, and the s ~e are, hereby repealed. Section 5. Fees to be given to Vnspectou. ~ o 'The mat~er of feeding prisoners was brought up for discussion and the Oounoil was of the opinion tnm{ the fee being paid for feeding prisoners was not sufficient, due to the rise in cost of'living. Thereupon a motion by Oouncilman Warlord, seconded by Oouncilman M. Thomas mad carried the Counoi' agreed to pay the sum of 50.cents (50¢) for earn prisoner and that each prisoner when Working shoUmd receive three (3) me~s a day and when not working ~Wo (~) mea-s a day.
