W. L. Hendry, local Attorney, aupeared before the Council in behalf of ]'frs.
W. T. Bass re.[~dinf~; an offer to sell to the Citer t]~.e street right of way in front
of her i.:ome. After discussion President Watford requested the Street Committee to
investi~tate matter ~d contact I,~!rs. Bass reg~ding offer.

Carlisle S~nomas, Build~,s? Inspector reported a request from ~¢rs R. E
~rza~zck re, ard_~_n,~ the zoninG of Lots !0, tl and 12, Block 209, stating her desire to
erect a traiiem park on said area. Action deferred ~mtil meetin,~:} of Auf~ust 13th.
Four letters of request from property ovmers in Wilcox Shores to open
Avenue E in East 0k~,ec~obee were read and discussed with the Council agreeing to in-
vesti~;ate matter.
President ?/atford discussed ~&zth. the Council the offer ~:sade by Dowling
Appraisal Co~'-any to a'eassess city property. ~_e Coz~ncil agreed not to have tlzis
wor~ do~.
Co~cilx,~an ~dner discussed the followin,[j request: a drainage ditch in
Colored To~, repairs on ~.~ia~ Street, culvert on 1st Street, South 0keechobee,
grading of street and culvert in East 01:eec]'zobee. The Council agreed to investigate
all requests ~zd to do whatever possible to relieve situations.
Rosez~ Jones, owner of 0keech. obee Trailer Park and Fishing Resort, ap'?eared
before the Council requestin,z that the 0ity erect speed limit signs in the area of
the trailer park. S?h~ Co,soil agreed to erect s~e. I.[r. Jones also requested that
the Co~cil consider 'their reason for adopting Ordinance ~,To. 280 and ascertain
their motive had been attained.

The City Council of the City of 0keeckobee, Florida, met in reg~al~r adjourned

The followiz~, were recommended: Js~;~es R. }~{inohan, Jr., Claude Holcomb, Jack Coker,

Inspector. ~cting upon reco~:m~endation of Attorney Durrance, Councilman Gardner moved
that the dutf~s of the Zoning Co~;~ision ~der Ordinance No. 279 be vested in Carlisle
?nomas, Building Inspector of the City of 01¢eochobee, seconded by Comncilman Chandler
and ca,tied. Due to ~is action the appoint~ent of a Zoning Commission was eliminated.
Councilman G~;~dner moved to appoint the above reco~m~ended persons as members of the
Adjustment Board said members to serve until January l, 1958, seconded by Counci~an
Pearce and carried.

Co'?ncilman Pearce reported the estimate received on repairing Band Stud
roof as $220.14. The need of some additional repairs was discussed ~terwhich Council-
man Chandler ;aoved that ~epairin;; of the Band Stand be referred to Councilman Pe~ce,
Chairman of tk~¢e Parks Con~ittee, seconded by Councilman gardner and carried.
T};~.e Council advised the Clerk to write a lotter to Joe ~,on~iovanni owner of
/~.lock lOl, pequestin,~M that said property bo cleaned u~o w~.t]~in 15 days. If not taken
~t.,u.a stated time the City will clean up property ~d owner will be billed
for s~ue. T!.is is in accord with Ordinance lq'o.

a lease on tho s~uing pool area also requested water furnished fr~e of cost for
the pool. A discussion followed ~tor~ich Councilman Chandler ~?~ov~d that the City
lease to the 0keeck~obee Sv~i~mming Pool, Inc. the pool area and facilities until Jan-
