A. Disposition of Cases presented by Code Officer Sterling: This being a quasi-judicial proceeding, an oath was administered to those offering testimony, all responded affirmatively. Officer
Sterling advised all events occurred within the corporate limits of the City of Okeechobee. The Officer's notes, testimony,
photographs, and supporting documents were all entered as part of the official record.
Case No. 17-012 Officer Sterling testified notice of violation/notice of hearing sent via certified mail was received by property owner. Officer
Juan & Lydia Almodovar. 1804 NW 71h Avenue Sterling stated the property has several disabled vehicles with expired tags. He said he spoke with Ms. Almodovar and she is

of fifteen dollars per day beginning thirty (30) days after receipt of proper notice if property is not in compliance at that
time; seconded by Member Denisuk .

He spoke to the property owner's son, Wayne Purvis, about getting the property cleaned up. After that conversation the property'

was haphazardly mowed. However, it is still considered to be overgrown with dead trees and debris in the yard. Chairperson

Gamiotea noted this property is located in a very visible area across from the school board office. Ms. Jennifer Tewksberry
addressed the board stating she lives at 801 SW 3`d Avenue, just west of the property in violation. She said this property has
been continually overgrown since October of 2015 with debris, a truck hood, dilapidated fence and rodents.
Member Close moved to find Case 17-022, Brenda Kemp, 800 SW 2nd Avenue, in violation of Ch 30 Sec 30-43 Public
nuisance and Sec 30-44 General cleaning & beautification, based on the testimony of Code Officer Sterling, imposing
a fine of ten dollars per day beginning fifteen days after receipt of proper notification; seconded by Member Denisuk.
