ELECTION OF CHAIRPERSON AND VICE CHAIRPERSON A. Election of a Regular Board Member to serve as Board Board Attorney John Cook opened the floor to receive nominations for Chairperson. Member Close nominated Jamie Chairperson for a two-year term. Gamiotea to serve as Chairperson; seconded by Member Conrad. No -other nominations were made and nominations were closed. Attorney Cook stated since no other nominations were made, by acclamation Jamie Gamiotea would continue to serve as Board Chairperson for another two-year term. B. Election of a Regular Board Member to serve as Board Board Attorney John Cook opened the floor to receive nominations for Vice Chairperson. Member Conrad nominated Melissa Vice Chairperson for a two-year term. Close to serve as Vice Chairperson; seconded by Member Gamiotea. No other nominations were made and nominations were closed. Attorney Cook stated since no other nominations were made, by acclamation Melissa Close would serve as Board Vice Chairperson for a two-year term. V. MINUTES - Secretary. A. Motion to dispense with the reading and approve the Member Close moved to dispense with the reading and approve the Summary of Board Action for January 10, 2017; seconded Summary of Board Action for the January 10, 2017 Regular by Member Denisuk. AGENDA - Chairperson. A. Requests for the addition, deferral or withdrawal of items on Code Officer Sterling requested the withdrawal of Case 17-006 Linda Foley & Case 17-010 David Feltenberger, from today's today's agenda. agenda due to the compliance of both cases. Disposition of Cases presented by Code Officer Sterling: This being a quasi-judicial proceeding, an oath was administered to those offering testimony, all responded affirmatively. Officer Sterling advised all events occurred within the corporate limits of the City of Okeechobee. The Officer's notes, testimony, photographs, and supporting documents were all entered as part of the official record. Case No. 08-122 Officer Sterling testified Case 08-122 Cody Brown, 813 SE 3`d Street, had a Code Enforcement lien in the amount of $7,400.00 Cody Brown.813 SE 3`d Street for public nuisance and general cleaning. He stated Public Works has been mowing the property to keep it from becoming Request for reduction of lien by new property owner, Zach overgrown. Mr. Zach Gazza addressed the board stating he purchased the property on March 16, 2017 and has already mowed Gazza, of Be A Man Buy Land and cleaned property. In addition, he paid the Public Works lien which covers the City's mowing cost in the amount of $676.71. Mr. Gazza is requesting a lien reduction and plans to continue maintaining the property. Member Close moved Case 08-122, Cody Brown, 813 SE 3`d Street, which has a Code Enforcment Lien of $7,400.00 be reduced, based on the testimonies of Code Officer Sterling & new property owner, Zach Gazza, to the amount $20.00 to cover administrative fees; seconded by Member Boak.
