2016-09 Dissolve CCAHCMir RESOLUTION NO. 2016 -09 A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA, DISSOLVING THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION AD HOC COMMITTEE; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICT; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Okeechobee Centennial Celebration Ad Hoc Committee was created by Resolution No. 2014 -02 to advise the City Council, by monthly presentation, on any and all matters with respect to the events and activities related to the City of Okeechobee Centennial in 2015, which focused on celebrating the City's heritage and promoting awareness of our history; provided ideas and recommendations for the consideration to the City Council, by monthly presentation, for events and activities that celebrated the 100th Anniversary of the founding of the City of Okeechobee; solicited sponsorships and donations and conducted fund - raising which provided financial assistance for the Centennial events and activities; heard citizens, community organizations, and /or other local groups input on Centennial activities and recommended appropriate action to the City Council; and WHEREAS, the Centennial Celebration Ad Hoc Committee completed their tasks with much success. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved before the City Council for the City of Okeechobee, Florida; presented at a duly advertised public meeting; and passed by majority vote of the City Council; and properly executed by the Mayor or designee, as Chief Presiding Officer for the City: SECTION 1: The Centennial Celebration Ad Hoc Committee is hereby dissolved. SECTION 2: Conflict. All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 3: Severability. That if any portion of this Resolution should be judicially determined to be unenforceable, then the balance thereof shall continue to remain in full force and effect. SECTION 4: Effective Date. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. INTRODUCED AND ADOPTED in Regular Session this 15th day of November, 2016.
