A. Dennis of Hialeah, appeared before the Council regarding the zoning and building regulation on Lots ~, ~, 5 and 5, Block 85, South 0keechobee. After discussion and clarification as to his intentions the Council advised Dennis to obtain a building permit and proceed with plans. George Reynolds, Director of the ~namber of Co~nerce, discussed the swimming pool project and requested that the Council transfer to the 0keechobee Swimming Pool d; Committee tho qpl00.00 that the City had in a Swirmming Pool Fund. Upon motion Council - man Cardner moved that the city transfer the $100.00 in the Swimming Pool Acco~nat to the above conmuittee, seconded by Councilman Chandler and carried. Also Reynolds suggested that the Council consider a levy of I mill for the swimming pool maintenance. Water Supt. Kinsaul brought before the Council a request from Curtis Wright for a water line extension to his property on the lake front. Kinsaul reported that it would require approximately ~18'7 feet of pipe for the extension. After discussion and consideration the Council rejected the request. A lenghty discussion on the radio for the new police car was heard. Sheriff klc Pherson a~d Chief of Police Thomas discussing the matter with the Council. Council- man Pearce moved to convert the present radio from a 5 volt to a 12 volt at an approx- imate cost of .~150.00, seconded by Councilman Walker and carried. Councilman C-ardner moved that the bill for radio repairs and radio frequency checkup of August ~, 1955 in the amount of $25.'75 submitted by Ulmer Ezell be paid, seconded by Councilman Walker and carried. Discussion on the purchase of gasoline and oil was heard. Councilman Gardner moved that the city advertize for bids on regular gas and regular and best grade of oils for a period beginning June 5, 195'7 and ending December ~l, 195'7, second- ed by Councilman Chandler and carried. NOTICE GASOLINE Ai'O 0IL DISTRIBUTORS C ' The City ounczl of the City of 0keechobee, Florida, will receive sealed bids on gasoline and oil to be delivered to the City Hall, for a period beginning June 5, 195'7 and ending December ~l, It is requested that you submit a bid on regular gas and regular and best grade of oils. All bids will be opened in the Council Chamber on Tuesday, June 4, 1957 at 7:30 P. ~,5. The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Jesse R. Lorena Spivey City Clerk 510 It was agreed by the Council that each Department Head would be responsible for the distribution of gas to the equipment in his department and said person will be required to keep records of sapac. Councilman Chandler moved that the City grant to each employee that had ~ been employed one year or more a two weeks paid vacation, seconded by Councilman Gardner and carried. The Council authorized the purchase of needed culvert. Councilman Gardner moved to pay $42.00 per week for man to be employed by the Street and Sanitary Department in lieu of $35.00 per week. Seconded by Councilman Chandler and carried. Supt. Williams was requested to investigate a request for a curb on South Park Street in front of the Western A.uto. Upon motion the Council adjourned.
