C. Review the proposed changes to the City's Land Development Page 59, Council Member Watford questioned if the maximum height for signs in
Regulations by the Citizen Advisory Committee. III Professional, Office, Commercial and Industrial Districts were adequate. No changes
were discussed.
Page 60 Temporary use Permits for Signs. Council Member O'Connor questioned if
election/campaign signs rules and regulations should be incorporated in this section or
if they had there own separate rules mandated by the state?
Page 62 611 Swimming Pool, number one concerns the minimum height for a fence
surrounding a pool. Council Member Oliver questioned if the Southern Building Codes
regulate that a fence has to be a minimum of five feet rather than four feet as proposed
in the LDR's. Administrator Drago stated this paragraph should either reference the
Southern Building Code Swimming Pool Regulations or be changed to five feet.
Section 613 Parking and Storage of Vehicles in Residential Districts. Council and
Committee agreed to delete this entire section because there is a "working" ordinance
in effect to regulate this.
Section 615 Residential Accessory Use in Commercial Districts. Following a lengthy
discussion, the Council and the Committee decided to delete this section and also delete
on page forty-two, Section 393 Customary Accessory Uses, Number One, that allows
residential use of the second floor as a permitted customary accessory use.
Page 63 Section 652 Home Occupation. Council Member O'Connor suggested everyone
think about putting something in here, that could be enforced, concerning residents
having yard sales every week or every day. Also, number six states, "No goods shall be
sold on the property" Attorney Cook suggested to include "services" also.
Section 653 Accessory Apartment, Pool House and Servant's Quarters number three,
add "attached to or" so that it states "An accessory apartment or servant's quarters shall
be attached to or located within the principal structure, and shall not alter the ap-
pearance as a single family dwelling."

Review the proposed changes to the City's Land Development Page 64, Section 655 Antenna, add language that antenna's requiring a permit shall not

a permit.

Section 656 Antenna for Single Family and Duplex Buildings. number one, increase the
amount of antenna's to not more than two.
Section 657 Storage Garage Carport Greenhouse Gazebo and Utility Structure,
number one, add, "Except gazebo's" such buildings shall not be permitted in the front
yard...."
This concludes the discussion for this workshop. The Council and Committee discussed
when the next workshop should be held, it was decided that it would be Monday, May 20,
1996 at 6:00 p.m.
Citizen Advisory Committee Chairperson Hazellief adjourned the workshop at 8.00 p.m.
