1965-12-07 Regular/986 Councilman Gardner presented the following Resolution and moved its adoption and being seconded by Councilman Walker was put to a vote and unanimously adopted~i ~__ RESOLUTION 'WHEREAS, -~e City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, sitting as a board of canvassers, has canvassed the returns of the Special City Election held November 35, 1965, and WHEREAS, Audley Dunham received the highest number of votes for Mayor. NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that AUDLEY DUNHAM be, and he is declared on~ elected Mayor te serve for/term or until January l, 1967. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and she is hereby instructed to issue and deliver certificate' of election to the above person. PASSED AND ADOPTED in regular adjourned session this 30th day of November, A. O. 1965. M.with the following present, Mayor Audley Dunham, President Mc Crocklin, Councilmen 6ardner, Hunt, Walker and Watford with Attorney Hendry and Clerk Spivey. Reading of Minutes of the mmetings held in November were disbursed with at this time. Bids were received, opened and read for the purchase of a police car as per specifications published in the Okeechobee News from the following: Okeechobee Moto~ Company Ford $1,875.00 Mercury $2,095.00 Gilbert Chevrolet Company Chevrolet $1,947 · OO After consideration and study Councilman Watford moved to accept the bid from Okeechobee Motor Company for a Mercury at $2,095.00, seconded by Councilman Walker and unanimously carried. Councilman Watford presented prices on various siz~ Royal Typewriters. CounCilman Gardner moved to purchase a 13 inch Royal typewriter for Police Department Office, seconded by Councilman Hunt and carried. 987 A le%ter was read from Okeechobee Ministerial Association regarding street signs. Matter taken under advisement. from the FloridmThe ~lerk reporte~ that the Franchise check in the amount of $14,686.39 had been receiVedpower and Light Company. Fire Chief and Jailer Godwin stated the need of blankets for City Jail. Councilman Hunt moved to purchase twelve (12) army blankets, seconded by Councilman Gardner and carried. CounCilman Gardner moved, seconded by Councilman Hunt and carried, to renew the Volunteer Firemen Insurance policy with Donald ,R. Mack Insurance Agency· Fire Chief Godwin reported the need of repair of shower walls in Jail. Council agreed to have needed re~airs made. Councilman Hunt and Building Inspector White to be in charge of repairs. A street light request was reported at B & B Supermarket parking area on 6th street. Council agreed to add to list of requested street lights. A request from Chamber of ~ommerce Directors for aid in putting up Christmas decoration was reported by President Mc Crocklim. Due to shortage in manpower and equipment the Council agreed to donate $25.$0 to help with labor in putting up the Christmas decorations. The Council instructed the,Clerk to submit another bill. to Okeechobee Beach Water Association for one-half~ of fee in preparing engineering report on water data. Okeechobee 4 2613 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN UTILITIES AGREemENT FOR THE ADJUSTMENT, CHAN~E OR RELOCATION OF CERTAIN UTILITIES WITHIN THE RIGHT-OF-WAY limits HERE- AFTE~ DESCRIBED, AND PROVIDING WHEN THIS RESOLUTION SHALL TAKE EFFECT.
