1965-11-30 Reg. Adjourned rezone from Residential (R-2) to Commercial Lots 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26, BlOck 163, Original Town of Okeechobee, and WHEREAS, notuce of intention to amend City Zoning Ordinance No. 271 regarding said application was duly published according to law, and WHEREAS, on the 23rd day of November, 1965, a public hearing was held in the City Council room pursuant to said notice, and WNF_~F. AS, it is deemed to the best interest of the City of Okeechobee, to grant said application; now therefore BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. That Lots 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26, Block 163, Original Town of Okeechobee, be and are hereby rezoned from Residential (R-2) to Commercial effective November. 23, 1965. SECTION 2. That the application requesting rezoning and proof of publication to amend.Zoni~ Ordinance No. 271 published in connection with the above application be attac~ed to this Ordinance and become a part hereof. SECTION 3. That the City Clerk make the appropriate change on the City Zoning Map in accordance with Ordinance. PA~BED AND ADOPTED this 23 day of November, 1965. No complaints were heard. Therefore, Councilman Watford moved that all names as published be stricken from the City Registration Book, seconded by Councilman Walker and carried. Upon motion the Council adjourned to meet Tuesday, November 30, 1965 at 7:30 P. M. M. with the following present: Mayor-ProTempore and President Mc Crocklin, Councilman Gardner, Hunt, Walker and Watford with Attorney Hendry and Clerk Spivey. President Mc Crocklin announced the Council would proceed to canvass the returns of the Special City Election held November 30, 1965. After a minor discrepancy was corrected the count was accepted in accordance with the tally sheets as presented by the~Official Election Clerk, as per~oti¢ by Councilman Gardner, seconded by Councilman Hunt and unanimously carried. (~AULIE) RAULERSON, JR. 200 T 0 T A L 6O2 Councilman Gardner presented the following Resolution and moved its adoption and upon being seconded by Councilman Walker was put to a vote and unanimously adopted~ ~_ RE S OLU T I O N WHEREAS, t~e City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, sitting as a board of canvassers, has canvassed the returns of the Special City Election held November 35, 1965, and WHEREAS, Audley Dunham received the highest number of votes for Mayor. NOW,THEREF~, BE IT RESOLVED, that AUDLEY DUNHAM be, and he is declared on~ elected Mayor te serve for/term or until January l, 1967. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and she is hereby instructed to issue and delver certificate' of election to the above person. PASSED AND ADOPTED in regular adjourned session this 30th day of November, A. D. 1965. Reading of Minutes of the m~etings held in November were disbursed with at this time. Bids were recei~d, opened and read for the purchase of a police car as per specifications published in the Okeechob,~ News from the following: Okeechobee Motor: Company Ford $1,875.00 Mercury $2 ,O95.00 Gilbert Chevrol~ Company Chevrolet $1,947.00 After consideration and s~dy Councilman Watford moved to accept the bid from Okeechobee Motor Company for a Mercury at ~,O95.OO, seconded by Councilman Walker and unanimously carried. Councilman Watf~d presented prices on various siz~ Royal T~oew~iters. CounCilman Gardner moved to purchase a 13 ineh Royal typewriter for Police Department Office, seconded by Councilman Hunt and carried.
