Discuss case procedures and process - Administrator Administrator Marcos Montes De Oca addressed the Code Board thanking them for their service. He assured the board the Marcos Montes De Oca City Staff and City Council support any tough decisions they find necessary to make regarding code board cases. He stated normally when cases are brought to the board it is at a point where the staff needs them to make some tough decisions and that's the purpose for having a Code Board. In closing, he added the staff would be glad to meet with them to answer any questions. VII. PUBLIC HEARING ITEMS. A. Disposition of Cases presented by Code Officer Sterling: This being a quasi-judicial proceeding, an oath was administered to those offering testimony, all responded affirmatively. Officer Sterling advised all events occurred within the corporate limits of the City of Okeechobee. The Officer's notes, testimony, photographs, and supporting documents were all entered as part of the official record. Case No. 15-061 Officer Sterling testified service of Notice of Violation/Notice of Hearing sent via certified mail was received by property owner. PACE 2000, Inc. 902 SE 14`h Court He stated in the past the property owner has mowed when they receive the notice of violation. However, as of today nothing', Ch 30 Sec 30-43 Public nuisance has been done to bring the overgrown property into compliance. Ch 30 Sec 30-44 General cleaning & beautification Member Close moved to find Case No.15-061, PACE 2000, Inc., 902 SE 14th Court, in violation of Ch 30 Sec 30-43 Public nuisance and Sec 30.44 General cleaning & beautification, based on the testimony of Code Officer Sterling, imposing a fine of twenty five dollars per day beginning seven days after receipt of proper notification; seconded by Member Abney. He said Public Works did partially mow the property a few months ago after receiving several Consider recommending foreclosure to City Council complaints from neighbors. At this time property is still very overgrown and a fine of sixty dollars per day is accruing daily. Member Conrad moved to recommend City Council begin foreclosure proceedings on Case 14-071, Alumni Partners II LLC, 206 SW 9`h Avenue, based on the testimony of Code Officer Sterling; seconded by Member Pippin.
