1973-01-18 General MeetingCITY OF OKEECHOBEE RETIREMENT PROGRAM January 18, 1973 The joint meeting of the Trustees was called to order by L.C. Fortner, Jr. The Trustees that were present were: Police Dept., Gary Eubanks and Tommy Gaughan; Fire Dept. Cheif Olin Godwin, Edmond Reutebuch and Tommy Gaughan; City Employees, L.C. Fortner, Jr., John Bennett, Russell Domer and Phillip Berger. Meeting was held in the City Fire Dept. The meeting was turned over to Mr. Landriscina from the New York Life Insurance Co. Mr. Landriscina asked if there were any trustees that did not want to serve as trustee for another year. It was stated that Noah Franklin Bennett did not want to continue as trustee and should be replaced. The City Employees to appoint a replacement trustee at a later date. Mr. Landriscina stated that three of the trustees for the City Employees was appointed to serve 1 year terms and would need to be reappointed on replaced as soon as possible. The other two trustees were appointed to serve two years terms. The three trustees that would be reappointed . or replaced would then serve two year terms each. The trustees that were appointed to two years terms were: L.C. Fortner, Jr., and John Bennett. The trustees that were appointed to one year 'ems were: Russell Domer; Noah Franklin Bennett and Phillip Berger. This matter to be handled at a later date. Mr. Landriscina stated that this month being the anniversary month this was the time when all employees that are not under the retirement program at this time should be given the opportunity to accept or refuse the retirement program. If any employee does not want to get into the program must sign the proper papers. New York Life Insurance Co. to be notified of any new members and Trustees. Mr. Landriscina stated that the new Police Cheif, Mr. Statts, was automaticly a trustee for the Police Dept. even if he is not a member of the retirement program at this time. The Police Dept. to appoint a trustee to replace Archie Hancock. A meeting will be called at a later date when additional information is available. Meeting adjourned.
