1974-02-01 General MeetingFebruary 1, 1974 Minutes Retirement Trustee Meeting The meeting was called to order with the following persons present: Mr. Jim Landriscina, Mayor Dunham, Russell Domer, Tommy Gaughan, Ed Curren, Olin Godwin, Ed Reutebuch, John Bennett, Sandra Bennett, L. C. Fortner, Jr. A discussion was started by Mr. Landriscina regarding the over -all retirement program. Mr. Landriscina stated that a total of $219.54 should be put into Fireman Pension Fund. A statement should be sent to the City Council for their approval. Olin Godwin made a motion that a statement be sent to the Council for payment of $219.54 for the year 1973. The motion was seconded by Tommy Gaughan. Motion carried. The following persons have fulfilled their one year waiting period and could become part of the retirement at this time: Police Chief Dewitt Statts; Larry Mobley; Ray Stone. The Cheif and two other policemen should be designated as trustees for the Policeman Retirement Fund. A discussion was held on the possibility of making the retirement program mandatory or not at this time. It was stated that this decision would have to be made by the City Council. It was the consensus of the trustees of the Employee Program to ask the Council to make the Employee Retirement Program mandatory effective January 1, 1974.
