R. W. Start, Jr., Regi~l Sanitary Engineer, was present discussing the water taste and odor and
offered suggestions to help ~liminate the condition.
Frank Altobello was present regarding the Zoning status of property adjoining his property on the
north (on Parrott Avenue) o~ed by Mrs. Ethel Bevel. Attorney Hendry s.tated that the property was rezoned
conditionally. Councilman ~atford moved to notify the property owner and Realtor that the property had
been rezoned conditionally ~d dut to conditions not being fulfilled the property reverted to Residential
(R-l), seconded by Counc~ Gardner and unanimously carried.
T. E. Nipper requested the Council to reserve a apace for his taxi in front of Bus Station on South
Osceola Street and requeste~ permission to install a telephone at said location. Councilman Watford
moved to designate one parcel ~ space for taxi and grant permission to have telephone installed
at corner of South Osceola ~ Seventh Street, seconded by Councilman Gardner and carried.
The Council discussed ~0 minute parking on one-half block of South Osceola between South Park and
Seventh Street. Councilman ~alker recommended that Councilman Watford and Police Committee be authorized
to investigate situation an~ work out a satisfactory s~utio~.
Dr. David B. Smith, Engineer, representing Okeechobee Beach Water Association, Incorporated, with
several members of the Asso~ation and with their Attorney Lester Jennings was present discussing a
change in their contract wi~ the City of Okeechobee. Dr. Smith stated that the Association requested that
the City pump their water d~ctly in the Association lines to eliminate the expense of storage tanks at
this time. After discussio~ the Council agreed to invesbigate further this request stating they would
Set a tentative meeting for ~ 11.
William E. M~rison, IL1, was present discussing several items, no parking signs at bus station,
stop light at p~ school, garbage franchise, adjoining property owner burning trash and copy of
minutes of the Ci~ Council meeting for Radio Station news.
A request ap~ication for rezoning Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, Block 2, South Okeechobee from R~sidential
(R-i) to Commerci~ was presented also a request application for rezoning Lots 7 and 8, Block 199~ Original
Town of Okeechobee from Residential (R-2) to Commercial. Councilman Walker moved to advertize for public
hearing on the abdve two request seconded by Councilman Hunt and carried.

The above mentioned Ok~chobee Beach Water Association, Incorporated members appeared again before
the Council discussing matter further. Afterwhich Councilman Hunt moved that Attorney Hendry be instructed
seconded by Co. Watford & cart
to contact Engineering Firm to come and discuss this matter wi~h the Council~/Leland Pearce, President of
Association, stated that the association would bear one half of cost of Engineering sex~ices if the City
felt it feasible to employed.same.

Ernest Evans stated th~ the home owners in Okeechobee Estates had requested that street lights be
installed in said area.

Pursuant to notice published in the Okeechobee News-Mirror regarding a public hearing to consider
rezoning Lots 7 and 8, Bloc~ 199, Original Town of Okeechobee from Residential (R-2) to Commercial,
P~esident Mc Crocklin asked if their were any objections~ to the rezoning. No objection was heard or filed.
Councilman Gardner moved to rezone the above described property from Residential (R-2) to Commercial,
presenting the following Ordnance and moved its adoption and upon being seconded by Councilman Walker
was put to a vote and unanimously adopted.
