SPECIAL MEETING
The meeting of the City of Employees Pension Board was called to
order at 7:30 p.m. by L.C. Fortner, Jr., Chairman.
The trustees present were L.C. Fortner, Jr., Jim Threewits, Roger
Jones, Jerry O'Bannon, and David Sorensen. There was also one
member in attendance.
The special meeting was called to discuss the petitioning of the
City Council of Okeechobee to increase the City's portion of the
retirement benefit for the General Employees Pension Fund.
It was motioned by Roger Jones and seconded by Jerry O'Bannon that
Mr. Fortner draft a letter to Mr. John Drago, City Administrator,
stating the terms and cost figures of the increase being requested.
The shortening of the retirement years of service from 30 to 25
years or early retirement--10 years of continuous service and age
55. The motion was voted on and was carried unanimously.
There was no other business for discussion at the special meeting.
"WW It was motioned by Jim Threewits and seconded by Roger Jones that
the meeting be adjourned. The motion was voted on and carried.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:14 pm.
