2002-08-14 General Fund MeetingMinutes of the City of Okeechobee General Employees and Okeechobee Utility Authority Pension Board Meeting held August 14, 2002 The meeting at City Hall was called to order by Landon C. Fortner, Jr. at 5:15 p.m. Trustees present: Johnny Mack Kinsaul James Mullis Jerry O'Bannon Landon C. Fortner, Jr. Others present: Merita Rice Report of the investment fund was given by Tom Horkan and Bruce Bridges of Invesco- National Asset Management. Mr. Horkan stated his duties for the coming year will be assumed by Mr. Bridges. Ernie Mahler, fund monitor from Salamon Smith Barney, gave the combined boards a market overview, and reviewed the fund's performance. The minutes of the Trustee meeting held July 31, 2002 regarding the disability hearing for Jeff Elders were read. Upon motion by James Mullis and second by Johnny Mack Kinsaul, the minutes were approved with an admendment to reference the independent doctor's evaluation as required by the Board's attorney, Scott Christiansen. Lee Dehner, attorney for the Board, requested proxie guidelines of companies in which the plan is invested. Invesco will provide this at the next meeting. The resignation of Terisa Garcia, effective August 14, 2002 was received by the Board. The Board will proceed to elect a replacement. Upon motion by Johnny Mack Kinsaul, second by James Mullis, the Board ratified the cash flow statement as detailed on page 6 of the Plan Financial Statement for 5/1 /02- 7/31 /02. Upon motion by James Mullis and second by Jerry O'Bannon, the Board approved the new enrollment of John O. Pearce as of May 1, 2002. Upon motion by James Mullis and second by Jerry O'Bannon, the Board accepted the Independent Auditor's Report for the year ended 9/31/01. Upon motion by Johnny Mack Kinsaul and second by Jerry O'Bannon, the Board approved an expenditure in the amount of $3,572 for Trustee Fiduciary Liability Insurance with an endorsement to eliminate recourse against individual trustees.
