1965-02-16 Reg. Adjourned iA, 943 ,! February 16, 1965 The City Oouncil of the City of Okeechobee, Florida met in regular adjourned session at the City ~'~ Hall on the above dmte at 5:15 P. M. with the following present: Mayor Mack, President Mc Crocklin, Councilmen Hunt, Walker and Watford with Clerk Spivey. Pursuant to notice published in The Okeechobee News-Mirror regarding a public hearing to consider rezoning Lots 1, 2 and 3, Block 77 Original Town of Okeechobee from Residential (R-i) to Commercial, Presiden Mc Crocklin asked if their were any objections. No objection was heard or filed. Councilman Walker moved to rezone the above described property from Residential (R-i) te Commercial, presenting the following Ordinance and move~ its adoption and upon being seconded by Councilman Watford was put to a vote and unan- imously adopted: ORDINANCE NO. 271 -(32) ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 271, BEING AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING ZONING REGULATIONS FOR THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA, AND PROVIDING FOR THE ADMINISTRATION, ENFORCEMENT AND AMENDMENT THEREOF PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 176, FLORIDA STATUTES, 1953. WHEREAS, application has been made by J. L. Robbins, requesting this Council to rezone from Residential (R-I) to Commercial Lots 1, 2 and 3, Block 77, Original Town of 0keechobee, and WHEREAS, notice of intent&on to amend City Zoning Ordinance Ne. 271 regarding said application was duly published according to law, and  WHEREAS, on the 16th day of February, 1965, a public hearing was held in the ! City Couacil room pursuant to said notice, an~ ~ WHEREAS, it is deemed to the best interest of the City of 0keechobee to grant said application; now therefore BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. That Lots 1, 2 and 3, Block 77, Original Town of Okeechobee, be and are ~ereby rezoned from Residential (R-I) to Commercial effective February 16, 1965. SECTION 2. That the application requesting rezoning and proof of publication to amend Zoning Ordinance No. 271 published in connection with the above application be attached to this Ordinance and become a part hereof. SECTION 3. That the City Clerk make the appropriate change on the City Zoning Map in a~cordance with this Ordinance. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of February, 1965. Mack MAYOE The Council agreeS that the Building Inspector make regular inspections on the proposed building to be erected on the above ~reperty. Councilman Walker reported price oh lime machine and parts for alum machine. After discussion Councilman Walker moved to ~repare specifications and advertize for bids on purchase of lime machine, seconded by Councilman Hunt and unanimously carried. NOTICE NOTICE iS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Okeech~ me, Florida, will receive sealed bids for the purchase of the .!ollowing: LIME MACHINE 1 Hydra~d Lime Feeder with feed rate capable of feeding from 1 to lO!pounds of lime per hour with manual feed rate control. 1 built in hopper agitation Machine,must have at least a 60 pound capacity hopper At leas~a 35 gallon steel solution chamber lined with Fiberglass or plas~c with built in jet agitation for desolving lime ~ Sui~bl~ E4uctors to withdraw the lime slurry from the solution chamber~and inject it at the point of application. 1 - 50 ~ot lenght of at least 1~" solution hose and all necessary fittingS, couplings and clamps. Electri~ motors must be 115 volts; single phase or 440 volts 3 phase, 60 cycl~ totally enclose~. ' Said bids will be opened in the Council Chamber in the City Hall in Okeechobee, Florida, at 7:00 P. Councilman Walker reported the need of portable welding machine for water department. The Counci] agreed for Councilman Walker to get price on machine. A matter was discussed regarding two houses belonging to Bennie Jones being connected to one meter. The Council agreed to install another meter upon payment of $35.00 by Jones. A requewt for water line extension to 7 Day Advent Church property on West 12th street requiring approximately 400 feet of 2 inch pipe was heard. The Council authorized the extension when building is started and taP fee deposited. A lette~ was read from Markham brothers and Company requesting to meet with Council at next workshop meeting ~o discuss water pressure at plant. The Council agreed to advise Markham Brothers of next workshop mee$ing. ~ A repot% was received from Brockway, Weber and Brockway Incorporated quoting anticipated costs of $157,OO0.O0 to relocate'existin4~ water main on 441 from water plant to 1st street in South Okeechobee. Councilman Walker moved, seconded by Councilman Watford and unanimously carried, to pay Okee- chobee General Hospital $417.40 total bill for services rendered to Don Stevens November 7 through November 21, 1964. Councilman Hunt moved to pay Mayor Mack's expense on trip to Tallahassee in the amount of $60.00, seconded by Councilman Watford and unanimously carried. Councilman Hunt moved to order testin~ equipment for sewer plant labatory, secOnded by Councilman Watford and carrie~.
