Officials to be paid at the same rate of pay as used by County $1 .25 per hour. Doris A. Carden, Clerk; Inspectors, June N. Boromei~ Violet B. Briney, Myrna Lee Davis, Ruth D. Jeffers, Deputy, Charles D. Wheaton and Frank Havely, Machine Supervisor. Councilman .Hunt moved to close absentee ballot voting time h:30 P.M., November 2?, 1970 seconded by Councilman Walker and carried. Upon motion the Council adjourned to meet November 2h, 1970 at 5:30 P.M./ PRESIDENT CITY COUNCIL ATTEST: November 2~, 1970 The City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida met in regular adjourned session at the City Hall on the above date at 5:30 P.M. with the following present: President Gardner, Councilmen Padgett and Walker with Clerk S~ivey. Pursuant to notice published in the Okeechobee News regarding a public hearing to consider rezoning from Res. (R-1) to Commercial Lots 1 to 12 incl. of Block 30 of First Addition to South Okeechobee according to Plat thereof recorded in Plat Book 1~ page 17, Public records of Okeechobee County, Florida, President Gardner asked if there were any objections to the above rezoning. No objection~ was heard or filed, therefore, Councilman Walker moved to rezone the above described property from Res. (R-1) to Commercial, providing the applicant shall use the property for Cabinet Shop only and that construction of said Cabinet Shop shall begin within 90 days from this date otherwise property will revert to its original classification, seconded by Councilman Padgett and carried. Councilman Walker presented the following Ordinance and moved its adoption and upon being seconded by councilman Padgett was put to a vo%e and adopted. ORDINANCE NO. 271-(6h) ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 271, BEING AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING ZONING REGULATIONS FOR THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA, AND PROVIDING FOR THE ADMINISTRATION, ENFORCEMENT AND AMENDMENT THEREOF PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 176, FLORIDA STATUTES, 1953. WHEREAS, application has been made by J. J. Wiggins and Flora E. Wiggins, requesting this Council to rezone from Residential (R-1) to Commercial~ ~'~ ~ .... i~1. ~- .... Fir~;+ ~dd ~.,., ~ $1 Okeechobee, and WHF~{EAS, notice of intention to amend City Zoning Ordinanoe No, 27~, regarding said application was duly published according to law, and WHEREAS, on the 2~th day of November, 1970, a public hearing was held in the City Council room pursuant to said notice, and WHEREAS, it is deemed to the best interest of the City of Okeechobee to grant said application; now therefore BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF ~HE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. That lots 1 to 12 inclusive, of Block 30, First Addition to South Okeechobee, according to plat there recorded in Plat Book 1, page 17, public records of Okeechobee County, Florida, be and are hereby rezoned from Residential (R-1) to Con~nercial effective November 2hth, 1970. SECION 2. That the application requesting rezoning and proof of publication to amend Zoning Ordinance No. 271 published in connection with the above application be attached to this Ordinance and become a part hereof. SECTION 3. That the City Clerk make the appropriate change on the City Zoning Map in accordance with this Ordinance. PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 2hth day of November, 1970.
