1970-11-16 Regular 1857 PRESIDENT CITY COtrNCTL November ~ ~¢ ] '~e City Council of the ~ty of Okeechobee~ ~orida met in re~lar adjourned session at the City Hall on the above date at 5:30 P.M. with the follo~ng present: ~esiUent Gardner, Cmmcilmen Hunt and Wa~er with Clerk ~ivey. ~e City Clerk presented the petitions of can~dates in the general City election ~.o be held December 1, 1970 and the following petitions were ex~ined by the Council and all petitio~ were found to co~tain 25 or more qualified electors: ~or: Audley S. ~mham P. FOR CITY CLFRK (Vote for One) Councilman Walker moved, seconded by Councilman Hunt and carried to appoint the following Election officials for December 1, 1970 City Eleetiono Officials to be paid at the same rate of pay as used by County $1.2~ per hour. Doris A. Carden, Clerk; Inspectors, June N. Boromei, Violet B. Briney, Myrna Lee Davis, Ruth O. Je£fers, Deputy, Charles Wheaton and Frank Havely, Machine Supervisor · Councilman ~unt moved to close absentee ballot voting time h:30 P.M., November 27, 1970 seconded by Councilman Walker and carried. Upon motion the Council adjourned to meet November 2h, 1970 at ~:30 P.M. PRESIDENT CITY COUNCIL ATTEST: November 2h, 1970 The City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida met in regular adjourned session at the City Hall on the above date at 5:30 P.M. with the following present: President Gardner, Councilmen Padgett and Walker with Clerk Spivey. Pursuant to notice published in the Okeechobee News regarding a public hearing to consider rezoning from Res. (R-1) to Commercial Lots 1 to 12 incl. of Block 30 of First Addition to South Okeechobee according to Plat thereof recorded in Plat Book 1~ page 17, Publie records of Okeechobee County, Florida, President Gardner asked if there were any objections to the above rezoning. No objection~ was heard or filed, therefore, Councilman Walker moved to rezone the above described property from Res. (R-1) to Commercial, providing the applicant shall use the property for Cabinet Shop only and that construction of said Cabinet Shop shall begin within 90 days from this date otherwise property will revert to its original classification, seconded by Councilman Padgett and carried. Councilman Walker presented the following Ordinance and moved its adoption and upon being seconded by councilman Padgett was put to a vote and adopted· ORDINANCE NO. 271-(6h) ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 271, BEING AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING ZONING REGULATIONS FOR THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE~ FLORIDA, AND PROVIDING FOR THE ADMINISTRATION, ENFORCEMENT AND AMENDMENT THEREOF PURSUANT TO THE PROVrSIONS OF CHAPTER 176, FLORIDA STATUTES, 1953. WHEREAS, application has been made by J. J. Wiggins and Flora E. Wiggins, requesting this Council to rezone from Residential (R-1) to Commercial~ '~ct~ ! t~-, L? :i.~_c[.
