1965-01-19 Reg. Adjourned940 January 19, 1965 The City Council ~ the City of Okeechobee, Florida, met in regular adjourned session at the City Hall on above date at $:15 P. M. with the following present: Mayor Mack, President Mc Crocklin, Councilman Gardner, Hunt, Walker and Watford with Attorney Hend~-y and Clerk Spivey. Pursuant to notic$ published in Okeechobee News regarding a public hearing to consider re- zoning from Residential (R-l) to Commercial Lots i to 12 inclusive, Block 30, First Addition 'to South Okeechobee, President Mc Cr$cklin asked if their were any objections. Glen Harned was present stating his objection and presented petitions signed by 44 property owners protesting the rezoning. Also letter was received from Charles M Mc Arthur property owner stating his Objection. O. K. Forsee was present expressing his objection to the rezoning. Mr. Ash stated that he was the one who had wanted to rent the above property $nd open a produce and ware house. After discussion Councilman Gardner ' moved to deny request for r$zoning the above described property secom~ed by Councilman Hunt and unanimous carried. Representatives f~em Brockway, Weber and Brockway Engineering Firm was present upon request from Council. The Council 4iscussed with the Respresentative preparing an estimate of cost in re- locating water maim'South el State Road ~ from water plant to First Street in South Okeechobee. Councilman Gardner moved to authorize the above ~irm to proceed with preparation of estimated cost on above and present before February 16, seconded by Councilman Watford and unaaimously carried. H. H. Parker was ~resent as requested by the Council to discuss use of un~etered water on his property south on State Road #441. After discussion Councilman Watford moved that H. H. Parker pay $50.00 for estimated wa~er consumption seconded by Councilman Gardner and unanimously carried. Mr. Joe Woolf was~present as requested by the Council to discuss sewer plant problems, Mr. Woolf ~advised the Council oI his investigation at sewer plant and offered to come to Okeechobee one day each week to supervise and ~ake recommendations on sewer plant operation for a fee of $31.80 plus expenses per day. After a lenghty discussion and in an effort to remedy the sewer plant problems Council- man Gardner moved to accept Mr. Woolf's proposition to come to Okeechobee one day a week as necessary to make recommendations and supervise the sewer plant operations for a fee of $50.00 per day seconded by Councilman Watford an~ una~usly carried. $5oo.oo Councilman Gardne~ moved to compensate M.
