Attorney Hendry reported that the new school site had been chosen said site being located
south of G. E. Bryant, Jr. orooerty on south Okeechobee Street, just outside the city limits, stating
the School Board would be requesting an engineering srrvey on possibility of water and sewer to
said site.

WHEREAS, an application has been received requestimg the City Council to close,
discontinue and vacate that part of Oherokee Street lying Bouth of Fifth Avenue,
except those portions of said Street that intersects with Fourth Street, Third
Street and Second Street according to Plat Book 2, Page 26, Firs$ Addition to
Ok~echobee, public records of St. Lueie County, Florida &~d P~afi Book 2, page
39, Central Park, public records of Okeechobee County, Florida, and
W~[EREAS, Notice of public hearing to consider closing, discontinuing and
vacating the above described street was published in The Okeeehobee News on
April 17, 1969, and
WHEREAS, said public hearing was held according to said Notice on the 6th
day of May, 1969, and
WHEREAS, there were no objections to said application and it appearing to
be to the best interest of the City of Okeechobee to grant said application
NOW, THEREFORE, Be It Ordained By the City Council of the City of Okeechobee,
Florida:
Section 1. That part of Cherokee Street lying South of Fifth Avenue, except
those portions of said Street that intersects with Fourth Street, Third Street and
Second Street according to Plat Book 2, page 26, First Addition to Okeechobee,
public records of St. Lucie County, Florida and Plat Book 2, page 39, Central Park,
public records of Okeechobee County, Florida, be and it is hereby closed, discontinued
and vacated.
Section 2. That a certified copy of this Ordinance be recorded in the public
records of Okeechobee County, Florida.
Passed and adopted on this 6th day of May, 1969.
