The City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, met in regular session at the City
Hall on the a~ove date at 7:00 P. M. with the following present: Mayor Dunham, President Gardner,
Councilman Hunt, Padgett, Walker and Watford with Clerk Spivey.
Upon request by the City Clerk reading of the minutes was disbursed with at this time.
Fire Chief Godwin prepared and presented a list of needed items for the Fire Department.
Matter referred to study and workshop meeting. Chief Godwin requested to get prices on items.
Lorena Spivey, City Tax Assessor presented to the City Council for examination the City
Tax Assessment Roll for 1968 as completed by her. After examination Councilman Padgett moved to
accept the 1968 City Tax Roll as prepared and presented by the City Tax Assessor, seconded by
Councilman Walker and unanimously carried.
The following Certificate was ordered in the minutes of the City Council:

0keechobee, Florida, do hereby certify that we have carefully examined the foregoing
Assessment Roll of said City for the year 1968, and find same correct.

Roll opposite each name of parcel of land therein described, and in case the taxes
as extended are not paid by the time prescribed by Law~ you are to collect same in
the manner prescribed by Law. Ail money collected you are to account for to the
City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, and you are further required to
make collections and report and a final report to and settlement with the City
Council of said City as required by law and Ordinance.

Supt. Williams reported the need of GarSage Disposal cans. Councilman Watford moved to auth-
orize the purchase of the above cans, seconded by Councilman Walker and carried.
A request from the Chamber of Commerce to remove trees and concrete from Cham~er of Commerce
grounds was heard. The Council agreed, to do this when time is available.
The Council agreed that only policemen and auxiliary police be authorized to ride in police cars.

City Hall on the a~ove date at 5:15 P. M. with the following present: Mayor Dunham, Councilmen Hunt,
Padgett, Walker and Watford with Clerk Spivey.
President Pro-Tern Watford presided over the meeting in the absence of President Gardner.
The City Clerk presented the petitions of candidates in the General City Election to be
held December 3, 1968, and the following petitions were examined by the Council and all petitions
were found to contain 25 or more qualified electors;
