After discussion and consideration Councilman Watford moved to accept the Florida Power and Light Company recommendation and install 6 new street lights and replace one existing light for larger light at an approximate cost of $21.60 per month, seconded by Co~zucilman Padgett and unanimously carried. The following locations were approved - Wes¥~ Street and Seminole Street, bkeechobee Avenue and South Street, Miami Street and First Street, S. outh Hiwassee and Fourth Street, 0sceola Boulevard and Windsor Place, 'South of Fifth Street on River Street and replacement on East State Road 70. A letter was read from the Florida P~er and Light Company requesting the City to grant a Variance on Lots 7, 8, 9 and W½ of Lot lO, Block 167, City of Okeechobee, which they were in process of leasing from ~rs. Muriel V. Lamb. The tern of the lease three years with an option for two additional years. After discussion Councilman Walker moved to grant request and grant the Florida Power and Ligh~ Company a Variance on Lots 7, 8, 9 and W½ of Lot lO, Block 167, City of Okeechobee, Seconded by Councilman Watford and unanimously carried. The Clerk was instructed to advise Chief of Police Thomas of Police Department Personel meeting Tuesday September loth at 5:30 P. M. and he is to notify all personel in Police Department to be present. 1 Mayor Dunham reported on five abandoned junked cars stored at City Hall requesting the City to dispose of ~hem. The Co~cil requested Attorney Hendry to check into law governing said matter. Councilman Hunt moved to approve and accept the 1967 City of Okeechobee audit prepared by Mc Alpin, Curtis and O'Haire, certified public accountants and to employ the same firm to prepare the audit for the year 1968 at same price of $1,500.00 seconded by Councilman ~'~atford and unanimously carried. 1121 CounciLman Walker r~ported a request from Hubert Harden for permission ~o move a house into City (Dean's Cottrt). The Council agreed to abide by Ordinance No. 328. Councilman Walker also reported a request from J. J. Boyd to park a trailer for approx~uately three months of the year on his property on north State Road h41. The Council agreed to abide for Ordinance No. 294. Councilman Padgett reported a request .From Mrs. George A. Sage, Sr. to have the owner of Lot 6, Block 85 clean brush off of property as it created a menance to her adjoining property. Councilman Padgett was requested to get a price on spraying said area. The City Tax Assessor presented the City Tax Roll for the year 1968 for review ar.,d Equalization. President Gardner announced that the Council would receive and consider objections to the valuations as fixed on said Tax Roll by the City Tax Assesser. No objections were receipted. After discussion Councilwoman Walker moved that the City Tax Assessment Roll ~or 1968 as prepared by the City Tax Assessor be accepted and said Roll returned to City Tax Assessor for completion, seconded by CounciL,.an Watford and carried.
