1967-10-02 Regular 1073 Councilman Padgett moved that Attorney Hendry prepare Contract Agreement between City and School Board with the following provisions: to reimburse School Board 50% of water bill for re- payment, City to have authority to tap on line at anytime, no higher rate to be charged than a consumer of lack volume, all expenses to be paid for the 8 inch water line by the School Board, City to designate Engineer, seconded by Councilman Warlord and unanimo~ly carried. = Councilman Watford moved to give the old ceiling fan to Okeechobee Livestock Market in ex- change for fertilizer, seconded by Councilman Padgett and unanimously carried. Councilman Watford moved to sell other ceiling fan for $10.00, seconded by Councilman Padgett and umanimously carried. The Civil Defense program discussed. Councilmmn Watford moved to include $300.00 in 1968 Budget for Civil Defense, seconded by Councilman Hunt and carried. Co~n~cilman Padgett moved to proceed with plans on new city barn with details being worked out by Building Inspector White and Street Supt. Williams, seconded by Councilman Hunt and carried. Councilman Hunt moved to pay Bobbie L. Wilson $1OO.00 for posting Okeechobee County 100% valuation on the 1967 City Tax Roll, seconded by Councilman Walker and unanimously carried. M. with the following present: President Gardner, Council- men Hunt, Padgett, Walker and Watford with Attorney Hendry and Clerk Spivey. Pursuant to notice published in the Okeechobee News the Council sat as a Board of Equalizers.! NOTICE NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, will meet in the Council Chamber of the City Hall at 5:30 P. M. October 2, 1967, for the purpose of reviewing and equalizing the City Tax Assessment Roll for the year 1967, as prepared by the City Tax Assessor. ANY AND ALL PERSONS having any objections to the valuation placed on their property by the City Tax Assessor, as shown by the Assessment Roi1, are hereby notified to file their objections with the City Clerk or to appear in person before the City Ccuncil at said meeting on the aforesaid date. The City Tax Assessor presented the City Tax Assessment Roll for the y~ar 1967 for review and equalization. President Gardner announced that the Council would receive and consider objections to the valuations as fixed on said Tax Roll by the City Tax Assessor. No objections were received. Mr. and Mrs. James V. Dykes were present discussing the tax situation but did not enter their discuss- ion in the form of an objection. After discussion Councilman Watford moved that the City Tax Assess- ment Roll for 1967 as prepared by the City Tax Assessor be accept and said roll returned to the City Tax Assessor for completion, seconded by Councilman Padgett and unanimously carried. Pursuant to notices published in the Okeechobee News to consider rezoning Lots 1 to 9 incl. and Lots 16 to 24 inclusive, Block E, Central Park Subdivision from Residential R-2 to Agricultural; Lots 14 and 15, Block 27, Northwest Addition from Residential (R-2) to Commercial and Lots 3, 4, 5 and 6, Block 92, Original Town of Okeechobee from Residential (R-2) to Commercial, President Gardner asked if their were an~ ob~ectioms to rezoning a~y of the above described property. No objections were heard or filed. Couacilman Padgett moved to rezone from Residential (R-2) to Agricultural Lots 1 to 9 incl., and 16 to 24 inclusive, Block E, Central Park Subdivision, presenting the followim~ Ordinance a~M moved its adoption and upon being seconded by Councilman Hunt was put to a vote and unanimously adopted: ORDINANCE NO. 271- (~7) ORDINANCE AMENDING O~DINANCE NO. 271, BEING AN O~DINANCE ESTABLISHING ZONING REGULATIONS FOR THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA, AND PROVIDING ~0R THE ADMINISTRATION, ENFORCemENT AND AMEN-~T THEREOF PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 176, FLORIDA STATUTES, 1953. WHEREAS, application has been made by Roger L. Jones requesting this Council to rezone from Residential (R-2) to Agricultural Lots 1 to 9 incl., and 16 to 24 inclusive, Block E, Central Park Subdivision, and '~EREAS, notice of intention to amend City Zoning Ordinance No. 271 regarding said application was duly published according to la~, and WHEREAS, on the 31st day of October, 1967 , a public hearing was held in the City Council room pursuant to said notice, and WHEREAS, it is deemed to the best interest of the City of Okeechobee to grant said applicatiou; now therefore BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. That Lots 1 to 9 incl., and 16 to 24 inclusive, Block E, Central Park Subdivision, be and are hereby rezoned from Residential (R-2) to Agricultural effective October 31, 1967. SECTION 2. That the application requesting rezoning and proof of publication toamend Zoning Ordinance No. 271 published in connection with the above application be attached to this Ordinance and become a part hereof.
