1964-12-01 Regular922 Registration Book the abov~ three names seconded by Councilman Gardner and unanimously carried. Nora Abney was p~esent requesting the Council to close the following streets: that part of Okeechobee Avenue lying between l~th Street and 17th Street also that part of 16th Street lying between Lot 6 of Block 27 and Lot i of Block ~0 and that part of 16th Street lying between Lot 16 of Block 28 and Lot ll of Block 39 st%tin~ they would deed a portion of Block 28 and 39 to the City for street right of way. Matter to be distressed with Attorney Hendry and if in order the Council authorized publication of notice on public hearin$. Councilman Walker reported a request for water line extension from Hubert Harden for two houses on West 12th Street East o2 State Road 98. Said extension would require approximately 375 feet of pipe and could be tapped on the two inch water line to Irwin Register's property. After discussion Councilman Walker moved to grant the above request and make extension seconded by Councilman Gardner and carried. Councilman Gardner reported a request from James Enfinger to open 7th Street west of Pensacola. Matter to be studied. Also reported a request for a larger street light on South Park and Pensacola St. This request added to street light list. Councilman Watford reported a street light request on South Street and Hicpochee Street. This request added to street light list. Fire Chief Godwim extended invitation to City Officials to attend Okeechobee Volunteer Firemen's Association bar-b-q. Councilman Gardner reported request from Mary Collier for sewer line extension to her home in Block 216, requiring appro~imately ~0 feet of pipe. Councilman Gardner moved to grant request and make sewer line extension secon4ed by Councilman Watford and carried. Councilman Gardner moved to install sewer line extension in Block 1~6 when all six property owners have paid their sewer tap fee and have agreed to connect to the sewer within 60 days also each person to be informed that they will be responsible flor sewer line from property line and when all tap fees are paid sewer line '~ll be started seconded by Councilman Walker and unanimously~ carried. Parker Abney was present in regards to the requested street closing as per minutes of meeting held November 2~, 196~ stating that he would deed to the City for street purposes two lots from Block 28. and two lots from Block 35~ The Council authorized the Clerk to publish notice on public hearing of street closing. The Council advised him that the above propert was in R-1 zone correct for a church. Councilm~an Walker reported the need of one inch water pipe. Matter postponed until future meeting. Counciln~an Hunt moved to adjust the 1960 city taxes on Lots i to 8 inclusive and 9 to 14 inclusive of Block 59 and to~ accept $70.00 from Hughes Feed and Grain Company (formerly Broward Grain Feed and Grain Company) as full paYment for 1960 City taxes, seconded~ by Councilman Walker and unanimously carried.
