Reading of the minutes postponed to later date. The following request for street lights were presented and ordered added to list: Micanopee Street (Presbyterian Church), Okee. Trailer & Fishing Resort( Micanopee Street between 5th and 7th Street) Okeechobee Avenue and South Street, Miami and First Street and Hancock Street at SRD #70. The Clerk presented the Franchise check from the Florida Power and Light Company in the amount of $1%,O69.39 in accordance with Ordinance No. 223. Pursuant to notice published in the Okeechobee News and it being the hour of eight o'clock P. M. bids were received, opened and read on the following vehicles: !m ton pickup truck: Gilbert Chev. Company $1591.00 O. K. Garage 1712.00 Okeechobee Motor Company 1509.85 1 Special Police Car: Okeechobee Motor Company 1857.84 (Ford) Okeechobee Motor Company 2104.51 (Mercury) Gilbert Chev. Company 2166.00 (Chevrolet) After discussion and consideration Councilman Watford moved to accept the bid for (1) Ford Special Police Car from the Okeechobee Motor Company in the amount of $1,857.8~ and to accept the bid for (1) ½ ton Chevrolet Pickup Truck from Gilbert Chevrolet Company in the amount of $1,591.00, seconded by Councilman Hunt~ and carried. Re-zoning applications were received from Joe A. Underhtll, Jr. and Julian Leggett requesting that certain parcels of land be rezoned. The Council authorized publication of notices for public hearing on re-zoning request. -] [ '1 ] I I ' 1033 NOTICE OF INTENTION TO AMEND CITY ZONING ORDINANCE #271 NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida a municipal corporation, will consider rezoning from RESIDENTIAL R-3 to COMMERCIAL and to amend accordingly the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance #271 adopted November 21, 1955, the following described real property, situate, lying and being within the corporate limits of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, to-wit: Lots 11 and 12 of Block 166, Original Town of Okeechobee and that a public hearing in relation thereto will be held at 7:00 P. Parkerson 148 Franklin Walker 286' For City Clerk: Lorena Spivey 469 Councilman Gardner presented the following Resolution and moved its adoption upon being seconded by Councilman Hunt was put to a vote and Unanimously adopted RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida sitting as a board of cansassers, has canvassed the returns of the General City Election held December 6, 1966 and WHEHEAS, Audley Dunham received the highest number of votes for Mayor, Meal S. Padgett, Franklin Walker and Claude Gardner received the highest number of votes for Councilmen, and Lorena Spivey received the highest number of votes for City Clerk. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Audley Dunham be, and he is here by declared elected Mayor, that Neal S. Padgett, Franklin Walker and Claude Gardner be, and they are hereby declared elected for · four (4) years as City Councilmen; and that Lorena Spivey be, and she is hereby declared elected City Clerk for four(4) years. BE IT FURTHER ~LVED that the City Clerk be, and she is hereby instructed to issue and deliver certificates of election to each of above persons.
