Make check payabl$ to Recreation Fund Chamber of Commerce. Councilman Gardner moved to set aside $500.00 for Library Fund, seconded by CounCilman Hunt and unanimously carried. The CounCil agreed on the following increase in salaries: Street Supt. $15.00 per~ week, $5.00 per week for laborers in Street Department; Police Chief $10.00 per week, Assistants and Radio Operators $5.00 per week; Fire Chef $10.00 per week; City Clerk $10.00 per week, City Clerk Assistant (Cassel) $5.00 per week, and Buildin~ Inspector Expense $5.00 per week. PRESIDENT CITY COUNCIL ATTEST: ~~ ~ November 2~, 1964 The Cit~ Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, met in regular adjourned session at the City Hall on the above ~te/~.~:15 P..M..with the following present: President Mc Crocklin, Councilmen Gardner, Hunt, Walker and ~atford with Clerk Spivey. ?ursuan~ to notice published in Okeechobee News, President Mc Crocklin stated that the Council would hear compla~ts from anyone having had their name stricken from the City Registration Book. The following names w~ requested to be restored to the Registration BoOk having been stricken in error: W. C. JERNIGAN, G~TRUDE B JERNIGAN and WALTER S. OWENS. Councilman Hunt moved to restore to the City 922 Registration Book the above three names seconded by Councilman Gardner and unanimously carried. Nora Abney was p~esent requesting the Council to close the following streets: that part of Okeechobee Avenue lying between 15th Street and 17th Street also that part of 16th Street lying between Lot 6 of Block 27 and Lot 1 of Block 40 and that part of 16th Street lying between Lot 16 of Block 28 and Lot 11 of Block 39 st~$ing they would deed a portion of Block 28 and 39 to the City for street right of way. Matter to be discussed with Attorney Hendry and if in order the Council authorized publication of notice on public hearin$. Councilman Walker reported a request for water line extension from Hubert Harden for two houses on West 12th Street East of State Road 98. Said extension would require approximately 375 feet of pipe and could be tapped on the two inch water line to Irvin Register's property. After discussion Councilman Walker moved to grant the above request and make extension seconded by Councilman Gardner and carried. Councilman Garduer reported a request from James Enfinger to open 7th Street west of Pensacola. Matter to be studied. Also reported a request for a larger street light on South Park and Pensacola St. This request added to street light list. Councilman Watfo~d reported a street light request on South Street and Hicpochee Street. This request added to street light list. Fire Chief Godwim extended invitation to City Officials to attend Okeechobee Volunteer Firemen's Association bar-b-q. Councilman Gardner reported request from Mary Collier for sewer line extension to her home in Block 216, requiring appro~imately ~50 feet of pipe. Councilman Gardner moved to grant request and make sewer line extension seconded by Councilman Watford and carried. Councilman GardnSr moved to install sewer line extension in Block 146 when all six property owners have paid their sewer tap fee and have agreed to connect to the sewer within 60 days also each person to be informed that they will be responsible Eor sewer line from property line and when all tap fees are paid sewer line will be started seconded by Councilman Walker and unanimously~ carried. M. with the following present: President Mc Crockli~,~Councilmen Gardner, Hunt, Walker and Watford with Attorney Hendry and Clerk Spivey. Parker Abney was ~resent in regards to the requested street closing as per minutes of meeting held November 24, 196~ sta$ing that he would deed to the City for street purposes two lots from Block 28 and two lots from Block 3~.
