The City Council of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, met in regular adjourned session at the
City Hall on the above date at 5:15 P. M. with the following present: President Mc Crocklin, Council-
men Gardner, ~unt,Walker and Watford with Clerk Spivey.
Pursuant to notice published in the Okeechobee News the Ccuncil sat as a Board of Equalizers.
NOTICE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Okeechobee~ Florida, will meet
in the Council Chamber of the City ~all at 5:15 P. M. November 15, 1966, for the purpose of
reviewing and equalizing the Oity Tax Assessment R011 for the year 1966, as prepared by the
City Tax Assessor.
ANY AND ALL PERSONS having any objections to the valnation placed on their property by the
City Tax Assessor, as shown by the Assessment Roll, are hereby notified to file their
objections with the City Clerk or to appear in person before the City Council at said meet-
lng on the aforesaid date.

The City Tax Assessor presented the City Tax Assessment Roll for the year 1966 for review an~
equalization. President Mc Crocklin announced that the Council would receive and consider objections
to the valuations as fixed on said Tax Boll by the City Tax Assessor. No objections were received.
After discussion Councilman Hnnt moved that the City Tax Assessment Roll for 1966 as prepared by the
City Tax Assessor be accepted and said Roll returned to City Tax Assessor for completion, seconded by
Councilman Walker and unanimously carried.
Councilman Gardner presented the following Ordinance and mover its adoption and upon being sec-
onded by Councilman Hunt was put to a vote and unanimously adopted:
ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE LE~-f AND COLLECTION OF TAXES FOR THg year 1966 FOR
THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE~ F~ORIDAo
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That the City of Okeechobee, Florida, here~y levies a tax of 20 mills on
each dollar valuation of real personal property within the corporate limits of the City of
Okeechobee, Florida, for the year 1966; such taxes shall be assessed and collected in the
manner provided by law, PROVIDED HOWEYER, that no taxes shall be assessed against homestead{
having a valuation of not more than $5,000.00 for the General ~nd of said City.
SECTION 2. That 14 mills of such tax be used for General City purposes and shall be
assessed for the General ~md of said City. That 6 mills of such tax shall be assessor for
the interest and sinking ~nnd for the payment of interest and principal of General RefUnding
Bonds, Issue of 1942, of said City.
SECTION 3. It shall be the duty of the Tax Collector of said City and the City Clerk of
said City, to divide the proceeds received from said taxes as aforesaid, into the funds set
out in Section 1 of this ~rdinance and keep full and correct account of same as they may be
directed by the City Council.
SECTION 4. All ordinances, or parts of Ordinances, in conflict herewith be, and the
same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 5. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage by the
City Council and approval by the Mayor.
PASSED AND ADOPTED in regular adjourned session this 15th day of November, A. D. 1966.

moved to authorize the Florida Power and Light Company to prepare survey of needed light in said

CounCilman Gardner moved to advertize for bids on pickup truck for the Street Department,
said bids to be opened December 6, 1966, seconded by Councilman Watford and unanimously carried.
