Co~ci~an Walker moved to purchase jar testi~ machine and necessa~ equi~ent to ~n water test, seconded by Counci~an Gardner and car~ed. ~ouncml~!~ ~ardner moved that due to lack of time and info~ation, the City would use the s~e valuations as for the year of 196~, seconded by Councilman Wat~ord and nnan~ously carried. Counci~:'an ~unt stated that Fire Chief Godwin had reported the need of 300 feet of 1~ inch hose for t~e Fire Department. Councilman Hunt moved to authorize the Fire Chief to purchase the above stated f~re aose, seconded by Counci~an ~qalker and carried. Counc~an Gar~er repor~d the need of an additional man in the Street Department. Matter to be worked o~..t at workshop meeting. Cou~ci~,~ Watford moved to allow ~ohn Fer~son to use approximately ten (10) feet of Seminole Street lying between First Street and South Street adjacent to Lot 7, Block 2~1, First Addition to Okeact'.obee, for the ~rpose of an attachement shelter, subject, to requirements of the City Building Code and a signed statement fro~ Ferguson s~ting that said shelter would be removed upon request of the City~ seconded by Counci~an Gardner and carried~ "ENC~AC~T PE~IT AGRE~ENT'' This Agreement made this ~h day of October, 1966, by and between T~.~E CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, herei~ called Owner, and JOHN FERGUSON and CELIA ~RGUSON, his wife of Okeechobae~ Flor~.da, herein called Pe~ittee: W ITNESS~TH ~Jha~reas, the Pe~.ittee desires to use approximately 10 feet of real property owned by the t;~.ty of Okeechobee, more fully described as follows: 'fhct part of Seminole Street l~ng between First Street and South Street adjacent to (~ot 7 of Block 2~1, First Addition to Okeechobee, according to the plat there, of recorded in Plat Book 2, page ~6, public records of St. Lucie County~ Florida. Whereas, the Owner bas no ~ediate intention of o~ning said Street at the present time. ~'~ow, therefore~ the parties hereto agree as follows: 1. The ~ner agrees to ~e~it an encroac[~ent not to exceed Ten (10) feet into the above d~:,scribed real property for the const~ction of an attachement shel~r, subject, however, to requirements of the City Bufi. lding Code. 2. It is understood and agreed that the encroachement ~it rights granted he,in sh~ll c~'~se and resinate at the pleasure of the ~ner. 3. Marvin Arrants, ?;answer of Florida ~ower and Light Com,~.any, was present stating the Florida ~'ower an(] Light would clean Mi~canopee Street right of way adjacent to Iqorth Park Street providing the City would dispose of the trees and brush.Councmlmau' Gardner moved to authorize the Florida Power and Light Comoanv~. ~ t~, clear right of way and agreed to dispose of trees and brmsh, seconded by Councilman Wat~'ord and carrSedo Cen ~h~rdeshaw, M~. and ~!rs. Marvin Arrants, representing the Libray Board and Clyde Durrance representing the County C~'mmissioners, were ~ uresent discussing with the Counci'[ the purposed library ~i3_ding ?!ans and site. Said. 'proposed site being the Chamber of Commerce grounds. After discussion the Council agreed to mee'~ with the Library Board, County Commissioners and Mr. R. E. Hmmrick to work out detailso Councilman Watford s~,atefl~ r that he wanted to go on record as opposing meeting held October 3, 1966 concernSng better relations between City and County Law Deoartments. ~.~e Counci! approved_ tb~ =nter County Teleohone and ~elegraph Company request for permit to construct cable along and ~cross State Road 70, section number 91070~ between Okeechobee and Fort ¢ierce, in Okeechobee County, Florida, amd authorized President Mc Crocklin to sign sarn~o ?'layer Dun~am reportem o~,: F.
