COUNTY NAME PARCEL & R/W JOB NO. 91 530 6616 Sts. in Okeechobee Okeechobee h 2616 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN UTILITIES AGREEmeNT FOR THE ADJUSTMENT, CHANGE OR RE- LOCATION OF CERTAIN UTILITIES WITHIN THE RIGHT-OF-WAY LIMITS HEREAFTER DESCRIBED, AND PROVIDING ~fHEN THIS RESOLUTION SHALL TAKE EFFECT. WHEreAS, the State Road Department of Florida has located and proposes to construct or reconstruct streets in Okeechobee, Parts hJ~-h7 inclusive, and WHEREAS, in order for the state road department to further and complete said project it is necessary that certain utilities and/or facilities within the Right of Way limits of said Streets in Okeechobee, be adjusted, changed or relocated; and WHEREAS, the State Road Department having requested the City of Okeechobee, Florida~ to execute and deliver to the State Road Department a Utilities Agreement, agreeing to make or cause to be made such adjustments, changes or relocations of said utilities and/or facilities as set out in said Agreement, and said request having been duly considered; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the ~ity of Okeechobee, Florida, that the Mayor and Clerk be and they are hereby authorized and directed to make, execute and deliver to the State Road Department a Utilities Agreement for the adjustment, change or relocation of certain utilities within the Right of Way of said Sts. in Okeechobee, Section 91530-6616 (2616) Upon motion the Council adjourned. The Council agreed to take matter under consideration. Also tdr. Edwards ~ t~at the city make arrangements to empty garbage can regular at the Chamber of Commerce building. The Council agreed to give this request attention. Clyde Durrance, Nathan Hazellief and Alton Chandler, County Commissioners, were presnt as re- quested by the Council to discuss the possibility of assessing a nominal fee for persons using garbage disposal grounds. A discussion followed but no action was taken. Hallie Thomas was present requesting that the drainage ditch adjoining her property on 8th St. be cleaned out. The Council advised that the ditch would be cleaned as soon as possible, providing the county equipment was ~ot taken from city. Oscar ~. Crabill appeared before the Council and requested a sewer line extension to Block R - east of City Hall adjoining State Road 70 on south, stating the property had been sold and a building was to be constructed. The Council agreed 'to survey request and to meet August 16th at 5:15P. M. for report. John R. Hayes, Sr. was present requesting that the alley adjoining his property on the east be repaired. The Council agreed to repair as soon as weather condition permits. Henry Brake, J. G. Evans and Alford Arnold property owners in southwest section appeared before the Council requesting some releif to drainage problem in said section. Councilman Gardner and Supt. Williams requested to make survey of situation. Supt. Williams reported the need of street department truck repairs, condition of pickup truck and the steering apparatus on grader needing repair. After discussion the Council authorized the repair of the two dump trucks and grader repair also agreed to study financial report before taking action on pickup truck. Councilman Gardner reported several request to open Pensacola St. to 3rd Street. Matter postpone~. Councilman Gardner moved to instruct Attorney Hendry to prepare an Ordinance requiring that ,level foundation of houses be sixteen (16) inches above the street/seconded by Councilman Hunt and carried. Attorney Hendry reported that the Seaboard Air Line Railroad Company had agreed on a flag stop at Okeechobee for destinations beyond ~ackeenville. Supt. Fortner discussed the amount of chlorine being used at sewer plant stating it could be purchased at a cheaper rate providing a greater quanity is purchased at the time. Presently the 150~ tanks are being used at a ~:~rice of 10¢ per pound. Supt. Fortner suggested a 20OO~ tank for which he would need a concrete slab and connections. Councilman Gardner moved, seconded by Councilman Walker and carried to convert to 20OO~ tank and purchase chlorine in one (1) ton quanities. The City received a citation for Meritorious Service from the American Legion. Councilman Gardner re~orted a street light request from Mrs. Nancy Dillard on west ~th Street. The Council agreed to add to list of street light request. Councilman Gardner brought before the Council mosquito control and agreed to contact county regarding unit. Mayor Dunham presented for study occupational license code. The Council agreed to study matter. The Council discussed the need of a re-registration of all city electors. Councilman Gardner presented the following Ordinance and moved its adoption and upon being seconded by Councilman Hunt was put to a vote and unanimously adopted: 1019 ORDINANCE NO. 322 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE RE-REGISTRATION OF ALL PERSONS WHO  i INTEND TO REGISTER AND QUALIFY TO VOTE IN ANY GENERAL, PRIMARY, OR ~ i SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA - AFTER THE ,1,st DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1966, AND PROVIDING THE MANNER AND TIME OF HE-REGISTRATION OF SAID ELECTORS. Be It Ordained By The Mayor And The City Council Of The City Of Okeechobee, Florida: Section 1. All persons who desire tm vote in any general, primary or special election to be held in the City of Okeechobee, Florida, after September 1, 1966 and who are qualified to register under the laws of the State of Florida and ordinances of the City of Okeechobee shall re-register their names at the City Hall in a special book prepared for said purpose. Section 2. Ail persons re-registering as provided in Section 1 of this Ordinance shall be qualified electors of the City of Okeechobee, Florida. Section 3. It shall be the duty of the City Clerk of the City of Okeechobee, Florida, to open the registration books of said City of Okeechobee on the 1st day of September, 1966 and keep the same open five (~) days each week, except holidays, thereafter, during the period of re-registration and shall close said registration books on the 18th day of November, 1966. Section ~. Any person failing to re-register as provided in Section 1 ~_. shall not be permitted to vote at any general, primary or special election _ held in the City of Okeechobee subsequent to September 1, 1966.
