A letter was read from the Seaboard Air Line Railroad Company Superintendent, advising of the
restricting of train speed through Okeechobee as per agreement with R. S. Mills, Trainmaster June 7, 19~6.
The Council granted permission for the alley to be fenced temporarily south of the old First
Baptist Church Parsonage in Block 188, due to a kindergarten being established at that location
in the fall.
Councilman Walker reported that one of the water department employees had ceased working for
the city and had not completed a years service but had requested his vacation pay. The Council agreed
that the present policy on vacation be applied to all employees, stating that employees must work one
year of continious service in order to be granted a vacation. Therefore, the request was denied.
Councilman Hunt discussed purchase of parts for city hall lawn mower. After discussion Council-
man Hunt moved to purchase parts for said mower and to hire someone to mow lawn while mower is being
repaired and to appoint Building Inspector White to be in charge of watering city hall lawn, seconded
by Councilman Walker and carried.
Pursuant to notice published in the Okeechobee News regarding a public hearing concerning the
request for a special permit for trailer park on Lots i to 18 inclusive, Block 17, Original Town of
Okeechobee, President Mc Crocklin Asked if there were any objections, no objection was heard *~r filed.
Therefore, Councilman Gardner moved to grant request for special permit for a trailer park to be
located on the above described property, seconded by Councilman Walker and carried.
The 1965 City of Okeechobee audit as prepared by Pflug and McAlpin, Certified Public Accountant$i
!,resented to the City Council June 7, 1966, for study. Councilman Hunt moved to accept
the 1965 audit of city records as prepared by Pflug and McAlpin and to employ the same firm for the
year 1966, seconded by Councilman Gardner and unanimously carried.
An application for beer and wine license at 803 S. N. Park Street (Billy Yates Service Station)
was submitted. Action deferred for investigation.
A resolution and Utility Agreement from the 3tate Road Department was presented. Councilman
Gardner moved to adopt the following Resolution and that the proper officials be authorized to
execute the Utility Agreement and upon being seconded by Councilman Watford was put to a vote and
unanimously adopted.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN UTILITIES AGREEmeNT FOR THE ADJUSTMENT, CHANGE OR RE-
LOCATION OF CERTAIN UTILITIES WITHIN THE RIGHT-OF-WAY LIMITS HEREAFTER DESCRIBED, AND PROVIDING
~EN THIS RESOLUTION SHALL TAKE EFFECT.
WHEreAS, the State Road Department of Florida has located and proposes to
construct or reconstruct streets in Okeechobee, Parts ~J~-47 inclusive, and
WHEREAS, in order for the state road department to further and complete said
project it is necessary that certain utilities and/or facilities within the Right
of Way limits of said Streets in Okeechobee, be adjusted, changed or relocated; and
WHEREAS, the State Road Department having requested the City of Okeechobee,
Florida~ to execute and deliver to the State Road Department a Utilities Agreement,
agreeing to make or cause to be made such adjustments, changes or relocations of
said utilities and/or facilities as set out in said Agreement, and said request
having been duly considered;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the ~ity of Okeechobee,
Florida, that the Mayor and Clerk be and they are hereby authorized and directed
to make, execute and deliver to the State Road Department a Utilities Agreement for
the adjustment, change or relocation of certain utilities within the Right of Way of
said Sts. in Okeechobee, Section 91530-6616 (2616)
