A request fr~m Marvin F. Mosley for employment was read by Clerk and ordered filed.
A letter of appreciation to Olen Godwin, Fire Chief from Daniel W. Delagall was read
and ordered filed.
Councilman ~lker presented several prices on various sizes of pipe. Industrial Supply
Company quoted the lowest p~ice. Councilman Gardner moved to accept the price offered by Industrial
Supply Company and purchase the following pipe:
500 feet of '~/4 inch
500 feet of ~ inch
2000 feet of 2 inch
seconded by Councilman Walker and unanimously carried.
The Council stated that the City womld not purchase meters from persons on Mc Carthy Water
Compan~ line,~ said;persons had purchased the meter from Mc Carthy.
Councilman ~unt reported complaints on trailers being parked in City, this being in con-
flict with City Ordinance. Mayor Mack offered several recommendations for Ordinance Amendment. Matter
to be studied further.
Upon motion the Council adjourned to meet October 12, 1964 @ 5:15 P. M.

pose of reviewi~g and equalizing the City Tax Assessment Roll for the year 1964, as prepared
by the City Tax ~sessor.
ANY AND ALL PERSONS having any objections to the valuation placed on their property

The City Tax Assessor presented the City Tax Assessment Roll for the year 1964 for review and
equalization. PreSident Mc Crocklin announced that the Council would receive and consider objections
to the valuation aS fixed on said Tax Roll. for. the City Tax Assessor. No objections were received.
Counciln~n Nalker moved that the City Tax Assessment Roll for the 'year 1964 as prepared by the
City Tax Assessor ~e accepted and said Roll returned to the City Tax Assessor for completion seconded ~y
Councilma~ Watfor~ and unanimouslY carried.
Councilman Gardner presented the following Ordinance and moved its adoption and upon being
seconded by Counci~ Walker was put to a vote and unanimously adopted:

AN ORDInaNCE P~OVIDING FOR THE LEVY AND COLLECTION OF TAXES FOR THE YEAR 1964 FOR THE
CITY OF ~KEECHOBEE, I~EIDA.
BE IT ON~AIN~D. BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OKEECHOBEE, FLORIDA:
~ SEC~IO~ 1 That the City of Okeechobee, Florida, hereby levies a tax of 20 mills
on each ~ollar valuation of real and personal property within the corporate limits of
the City of Okeechobee, Florida, for the year 1964; such taxes shall be assessed and
collecte~ in the manner provided by law, PROVIDED HOWEVER, that no taxes shall be
assessed against homesteads, having a valuation of not more than $5,000.00 for the
General Fund of said City.
SECTION 2. That 14 mills of such tax be used for General City purposes and shall

be assessed for the General Fund of said City. That 6 mills of such tax shall be assessed
for the interest and sinking fund for the payment of in erest and principal of General
Refundi~ Bonds, ~ssue of 1942, of said City.
SECTION 3. ~t Shall be the duty of the Tax Collector of said City and the City
Clerk of said Cit~, to divide the proceeds received from said taxes as aforesaid, into
the funds set out in Section i of this Ordinance and keep full and correct account of
same as they may be directed by the City Council.
SECTION 4. 'All ordinances, or parts of Ordinances, in conflict, herewith be, and
the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 5' This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upen its passage by
the City Council and approval by the Mayor.

Lester Jenn~s, representing Okeechobee Beach Water Association, Inc. was present re-
garding the above Associat~n purchasing water from City of Okeechobee, stating that they were in position
to enter into contract at ~his time and presented proposed contract for Council study. A number of
Association members were p~esent. After discussion the Council agreed to make a study of 1963 water
department expense to endeavor to determine as accurately as p~ible the cost of producing the water.
Amendments ~ Trailer~ Ordinance again discussed. Matter referred to Mayor Mack and Attorney
Hendry to draft proposed amendments to Trailer Ordinance No.294.
Pursuant to notice published in Okeechobee News r~garding hearing to consider vacating,
discontinuing and closing t~at certain alleyway running East and West in Block 185, Original Town of
Okeechobee, according to the plat thereof recorded in Plat Book 2, page 17, public records of St. Lucie
County, Florida. President, Mc Crocklin asked if there was an~ objection. No objection was heard or filed.
Councilman Gardner moved to. close alleyway running East and West in Block 185, Original Town of Okeechobee,
