SPECIAL RECESSED MEETING MoNDAy, OCTOBER 17, 19_77
The City Council of the City of 0keechobee, Florida, convened in a special
called meeting in the Council Chambers at the City Hall, 0keschobee, Florida,
at 1:30 P.M., on Monday, October 17, 1977.
President Russell V. Domer presiding.
Councilmen Larch Bass, Edward W. Douglas and Jim Knight were present.
Councilman Lytle Raulerson was absent.
Others present were: Audley Dunham, Mayor and Sandra Bennett, City Clerk.
FLORIDA LOCAL GOVERNMENT COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING ACT - RESOLUTION
President Domer submitted a resolution whereby the City of 0keechobee request
the Department of Community Affairs to include the City of 0keechobee's applicat-
ion among those reqmesting financial assistance from the Local Government Com-
prehensive Planning Act Fund Program for 1977-1978.
It was moved by Councilman Bass to adopt said Resolution and to authorize
Mayor Dunham to execute application, seconded by Councilman Douglas motion carried

There being no further business, the Council recessed until Thursday, October
20, 1977 at 8:00 P.M.

RECESSED WORKSHOP MEETING THURSDAY~. OCTOBER 2.0, 1977
The City Comncil of the City of 0keechobee, Florida, convened in a recessed
workshop session in the Council Chambers at the City Hall, 0keechobee, Florida,
at 8:00 P.M., on Thursday, October 20, 1977.
President Russell V. Domer presiding.
Councilmen Jim Knight and Lytle Raulerson were present. Councilmen Edward
E. Douglas and Lmvmn Bass were absent.
Others present were: Sandra Bennett, City Clerk and Ernest R. Bart~y,
Planning Consultant.
LOCAL GOVERNMENT COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING ACT - ZONING
Dr. Ernest R. Bart~.~y, A.I.P., appeared before the Council for further
discussion on the draft text of the new zoning Ordinance.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, the meeting recessed at 10:30 P.M. until
November 3, 1977 at 7:00 P.M.

The City Council of the City of 0keechobee, Florida convened in a Regular
Meeting in the Council Chambers at the City Hall, 0keechobee, Florida, at
7:00 ~.M., October 25, 1977.
President Russell V. Domer presiding.
Councilman Edward W. Douglas, La, on Bass and Lytle Raulerson were present.
Councilman Jim Knight was absent.
Others present were: Audley Dunham, Mayor; Sandra Bennett, City Clerk;
Larry Mobley, Chief of Police; L. C. Fortner, Director of Public Works; David
Conlon, City Attorney; 01eh Godwin, Fire Chief; Richard Spray, Building Official;
and Sylvia ChriStian, Deputy Cle~]k.

PUBLIC HEARING
BID TABULATION - 1978 AUTOMOBILE - POLICE DE.~ARTM~,.NT
It being the hour of seven o'clock and pursuant to a notice published
October 14th and 21st, 1977, sealed bids were received opened and read for the
purchase of one 1978 Police Automobile with trade-in of 1974 Plymouth.
Bids were as follows with trade-in:
0keechbbee Motor Company $5,739.00
Gilbert Ch~wrolet Company $5,800.00
Councilman Bass moved to award contract to lowest bidder, which was
0keechobee Motor Company in the amount of $5,739.00 with trade-in, seconded by
Councilman Raulerson motion carried.
TAYLOR ESTATES SUBDIVISION
Mr. Joseph Porten, appeared before the Council requesting a conditional
approval of the preliminary plat for the proposed Taylor Estates Sbbdivision.
President Domer questioned if Mr. Spray had reviewed the plans. Mr. Spray
stated that if Mr. Pomten would change his lot sizes he would approve the ~lans.
President Domer advised Mr. Porten of Department of Tmansportat~ons plan~
to remove culvert that he was planning to use on State Road 70 to drain in that
direction, He stated that drainage plans might have to be revised.
