The amount of the Public Works lien is $1,100.87. May 12, 2015 MEMO Code Board The item I placed on the agenda is to release the liens on Super Stop, the abandoned convenience store next to Burger King. The bank foreclosed on the property, but is holding '',off on a courthouse sale. A lawyer in Lauderdale has a client who is interested in purchasing it. I told th lawyer we normally require the property to come into code first. His client does not want to spend the money to fix it unless he knows we will waive the fines. I think we all agree we would like to see that property become an operating business again ad not continue as the eyesore it is. So, the action I am asking you to take is to suspend the fines, with the following conditioln: the purchaser, or assignee, elects to not proceed in the sale and come into )de compliance, we will re -instate the fines. If you do so, I can draft the cessary document for the purchaser to sign. In realitr, of course, due to the foreclosure, it's questionable whether we would ever recover any money on the lien. /s/John IR.
